They were innocuous comments and it’s pretty clear Washington just ponied up because Eller was playing well, and not that he was traded because he insulted the org or something. We don’t even know if he did have the power to fire Sullivan.

Stud defenseman Harrison Brunicke will be here sooner rather than later. Other promising players are on the way. I can’t imagine a galaxy in which Karlsson being around young players is a good thing. No, he’s not a bad guy. Far from it. I don’t even mean to suggest that. But I would suggest that the way he plays and the way he composes himself, while beneficial for him, isn’t what you want young players emulating. At all.

Dubas said absolutely nothing IMO. It’s all media trained nothing-speak, even him “cursing” with the “shit in the other” comment.

All my opinion but thought there was literally only one noteworthy/transparent movement and it was him calling out EK. I would take very little to zero away from that presser.

By all accounts EK65 is a great locker room presence and an elite offensive presence on the ice. Nobody is going to be effected negatively by that unless he's asking out and Dubas won't move him.

The longer it's been since his 18 month run of exceptional GMing, the more I'm convinced JR didn't ever have a strategy and his random "throw shit at the wall to see what sticks" approach just happened to luckily hit over and over and it resulted in back to back Cups. Dude sucked shit in Carolina for a decade before coming here, and he's sucked shit since the summer of 2017.

Lighting it up, no. Some of them are playing serviceable defense though and that’s something they couldn’t do here.
