What's crazy to me about the discord for the Guentzel trade is that if we had gotten a First for him and selected Brunicke anyway, people would be absolutely praising that trade and finding a future stud defenceman. Instead, because he was selected with a second, the trade is ass. People are insane around here

Feel like they should probably grab a vet hire for an assistant. Someone with head coaching experience even to help Muse lean on.

If he runs the PK he doesn't really even have to worry about Malkin or Crosby. But I think they're professionals that will treat their coach like a coach regardless of age.

Again, I think he's just one of three assistant coaches plus a goalie coach.

If the entire staff is green, then there might be a problem, but Muse seems like a guy who values different backgrounds and experiences, so he probably wants a mix of veteran coaches and newcomers fresh off playing careers or who spent some time coaching in the AHL.

Their internal scouting of the draft saw that the players were largely the same between 24-50 and they were confident in their evaluation that they'd select a great player no matter what. So with that in mind, why not get more players with potential? They made the great pick and were able to get Koivenen (whom they also specifically coveted and turned out to be right on). Makes me excited to see who they draft this year.

They’re HOF professional athletes, I would 100% expect them to treat their coaches with respect — especially one they won a cup with as a player.

I really want to see Rossi or Borque brought in to play wing on the second line, and then slide over. Or just say screw it, right to center, and staple Geno to Sid for his last ride.

They should all play center IMO. Novak as well. Crosby, new guy, Malkin, Novak. Start building up the depth up front.

I really don't want to see those 2 scoring lines, 2 checking lines nonsense anymore.
