Kyle has the easiest job in the world this summer.

Objectively, yes. No real mandate other than take the best offer from whomever for whatever. A job anyone could do, really.

As for Sid, I don't understand the angst of watching him elsewhere. If he's your favorite (he's mine) - why would you rather watch him on a dumpster fire where he has to sacrifice all aspects of his game to maintain a point per game - all for zero reason....when he could go almost anywhere else in the league and do better for himself and that team. Pad stats, playoffs, etc. His career here is going to be regular season only at this point. And the only hope of entertainment was putting Geno on his line and that seemingly isn't allowed here. So yeah, what's the point?

If Sid wants to do right by Pittsburgh one last time - shred the NMC and let the highest bidder take his services (or at least open it up to like 8 teams). What does he care? By the time those picks and prospects become a net-loss to the gaining team he'll be retired. I'll enjoy him on the Pens as much as I can but watching him on these teams the past few years has been terrible. Both the product (team) and his usage. Rosters haven't been great but I don't see us pulling out from this without like a dozen moves this Summer and that's something no GM ever actually does.

Who do you guys like with the 2nd round pick this year? Any chance Carter Amico could fall that far? Seeing people discuss Mrtka as a potential first round pick for us, I'd think they'd like Amico aswell if he's available in the later parts of the second round..
I would like to see Ryabkin fall to us

Yeah everyone talks about doing right by Sid as if this organization wasting the final decade of his career is the best outcome. This team's f***in' dead until like 2032, man. If he wants to go play somewhere to chase a Cup or enjoy hockey again in a winning atmosphere, cool.

It'd probably be for the best if he did, as verboten as that is to say. This team's allowed itself to fall into suspended animation because until this summer they've just been petrified into inaction cuz "what about Sid". Seems like they're finally picking a lane though, thank god.

Doubt Sid ever leaves though. Teardown and rebuild or no.

Makes sense. Rakell for Spence as a base makes as much sense as EK to Carolina.
I like Spence but I think he is (or ought to be) just one piece of a bigger package. 5'11 puck-movers who play sheltered 3rd pairing minutes aren't exactly the most valuable assets in the NHL.

I am disappointed that Clarke isn't available though. Would love to know if he was discussed in Rakell negotiations back in the spring. Thought maybe Blake might have soured on him.

Frankly - if that actually was their concern it's all a bit sad.

Placating Sid involved missing the playoffs for three straight years and not flipping Guentzel for a more roster ready piece, earlier? Going in on names like Hayes and not Tarasenko? I don't think placating Sid is at all what has gone on here. And if so - the Jarry/Graves moves....then my goodness.

Blake might have, but Holland may have a different view.

It's Pagnotta as relayed through the questionable aggregator, but...

You are a page late, BFD had this already, and Pagnotta isn't all that credible. Nothing new, the Pens are getting offers on the usual suspects, (and guessing probably the same garbage offers as the TDL ones) as stated by Dubas.

Prices probably haven't changed either.

Nothing has changed...Just a bunch of click bait.

I don’t think Dubas was ever placating Sid. He gave them one shot with the Karlsson trade and then has consistently been building assets and trading ufas for futures instead of signing them. The media has been allowed to keep saying we’re competing because it doesn’t change anything. No one ever said you had to completely gut the team year one to really be rebuilding. I don’t think it’s a fluke we’re placed perfectly to ‘compete’ for McKenna and DuPont.

Ryabkin is going to drop like a brick. He's going to be on a ton of DND lists and it wouldn't surprise me if he's on ours.
i must admit that he has earned the right to be on that list. but at the bottom of the 2nd round in a weak draft I'm willing to overlook it.
edit; if sid an d geno can't turn this kid around, no one can.

There’s not much of interest with the Kings young players or prospects either…hopefully some other teams are contacting Dubas lol

I don’t even know how you can. But if someone can find a way it’ll be him.

It’s funny because you can totally make Sid happy by giving Marchand 10 mil x 3 this summer after you move out Rust and Rakell.
I don't know why Marchand would do that unless he's willing to just chill with Sid and have fun regular seasons for the next three years.

Pens aren't sniffing the playoffs in that time I don't think

Wait, so you are saying that Sid would be doing right by the Penguins by asking for a trade? Are you sure you are a Penguins fan and not a member of the Canadian media???

The angst of watching your favorite player in another uniform is because we are all, you know, FANS. When the puck drops, we want to win. Also, you may have missed the headline this off-season. We have a new coach. New system. New attitude.

Dumpster fire? That train left the station and headed to New York City.

Brandt Clarke; Jordan Spence; Liam Greentree; Francesco Pinelli; Jacob Moverare.

Not the worst list.
I doubt their two best prospects in Greentree and Clarke are available at all but I don’t think they’re great prospects when you compare to some other teams

Well, this is what happens when you decide to trade proven commodities. You now have to deal with question marks.

This is why it is imperative to maximize these potential trades.
