Honestly I wouldn't be shocked if they move Heinen over the summer, even if it would end up taking attaching one of their excess future mid-round picks.
San Jose has Celebrini, Smith, Eklund and Dickinson that all look really good, plus another top-4 pick this year.
Yes, they have the core set up where they should be adding to make the team better, not trading away young players like Zetterlund.
Zetterlund is a total whatever.
They traded him for a 4th line upside guy and a 2nd rounder, when Zetterlund was a 25 year old middle-6 winger who was good friends of one of the core players.
It's gonna rock so hard when Sullivan plays Shea for 18 minutes and Ovechkin scores a hat trick against the Pens to break Gretzky's record.
Diametrically different situations.Better than locking him in on a contract.
Same thing with Jake Walman.
I wish we had GMMG here. He's done an absolutely fantastic job in San Jose focusing on a clear directive and delivering.
They won’t be able to draft 1st in 2026 if they do again this yearThe jury is still out on the sharks. For all we know they could get Schaefer then McKenna.
I don't think that is true. I believe the rule is you can't advance in the draft order by winning the lottery more than twice in 5 years. The Sharks are in last place so picking first would not be advancing. They won’t be able to draft 1st in 2026 if they do again this year
Not if they keep finishing dead lastThey won’t be able to draft 1st in 2026 if they do again this year
I thought he was a warm body. He’s been great.Gotta say something here. Timmins has played very well since he was acquired. Maybe one or two games he was meh, but overall he's been our best defensemen. Not that that in and of itself is saying much but...
10 games 1 goal 4 assists for 5 points and a +6.
Dewar himself has also been serviceable. For a 5th round pick?
Exploiting the Leafs cap peril has paid off. This appears to be really good value from KD.

Doubt GMMG would have played the cards Dubas was dealt any differently if he inherited a core that won 3 Cups, played the better part of 20 years together, and just missed playoffs instead of the grab bag of guys who never won anything, played together for a couple years, and coming off a lotto season.
That doesn't seem to have been the rationale for not dealing Rakell at the deadline. Dubas' price just wasn't met. People were up in arms about him acquiring Schenn then he flipped him for a 2nd the next day.You can respect the 3 core players and still blow up the team.
The fact Rakell had a career season and is still here is simply unforgivable imo.
Yup. Max Talbot and Matt Cullen were the kind of heart and soul guys you can win a Stanley Cup with. Acciari is the kind of heart and soul guy you win a Calder Cup with.i feel like a hallmark of good teams is heart and soul guys that are actually also good
He's a heart and soul guy but he really sucks. 9 goals in 2 seasons is terrible even for a 4th liner. He should be getting that every season.

I don't think there's an issue with keeping Rakell if he's moved in the offseason, but I know we're not on the same page there.
