I still want Jeff Halpern, Jay Leach, or Marco Sturm. I'm intrigued by Joel Ward, but I think he's a little green.
Halpern has been with Tampa, the premier organization in the NHL, for a long time. He's been in charge of their power play, so he knows how to manage strong personalities and talent. He'd be able to handle the twilight years of Sid and Co. while being creative enough to help the younger players thrive.
Leach is considered one of the top coaching candidates in the NHL. His personality and ability to think the game is apparently top notch.
Sturm has played a big role as an assistant and as AHL head coach in getting LA's younger players ready for prime time. If you're looking for someone to develop with a younger roster, he might be a good fit.
