I think LA just has to meet Dubas' asking price and that's that. Might be other teams out there with legit offers too, but LA can't get Rantanen, Marchand is probably not waiting to go cross country for 3 months, Boeser's in division, etc.

I really think it ends up being Rakell to LA at this point. It seems like the only guys available that fit what they're looking for are Tuch, Palmieri, Boeser and Rakell, and I don't think they have what Buffalo would want for Tuch and Vancouver probably doesn't trade Boeser in the division.

This deadline really seems to be far more teams are looking for top-6 scorers than top-6 scorers are available. I think Dubas would have to be turning down some terrific offers for Rakell to not be traded before the deadline.

I didn't realize that rackell would be LAs leading scorer if traded there today... The pens better get something of value back

This is why I don't buy into the "Rakell will bring back just as much in the summer" point. There's more supply in the summer due to FA, other guys become available as cap casualties when new deals kick in, teams are more willing to see how it goes with prospects, they have until the deadline to see how things are going, etc.

The deadline really applies a lot of pressure and as you said, this year is a seller's market. Dubas should be playing hardball, but at the end of the day, if you get the equivalent of a 1st or more, take it.

There would be various +s depending on which guy they get, but I'd demand one of Clarke, Turcotte or Greentree to be included in a Rakell deal.

-Clarke and a minor add for Rakell
-Turcotte and a 2026 1st for Rakell
-Greentree and a 2025 2nd for Rakell

This would be my demand from LA, one of those three. If they're willing to do more than that, absolutely wonderful.
