But you can't jump on any old offer because you're convinced he's gonna regress either.
I don't think anyone is saying that.
Just get a 1st for Rakell and move on.

There is not a person on this board that is buying what you're selling right now.I rarely if ever bring up Ron Hextall.
Every week I see someone on Penguins twitter saying "if only we didn't trade Mike Matheson", because similar to HFPens, most Penguins fans have no idea what the hell is happening outside of Western PA.
"We're an organization that's never won a Cup with the best chance we've ever had at a long playoff run, but our 4 best prospects are untouchable in deadline trades".The Winnipeg article says; Perfetti untouchable, Salomonsson untouchable, Lambert essentially untouchable (would take "a great player on a great contract"), Yager essentially untouchable.
For those without access.

More hilariously, what I said went right over your head, proving (in real-time) my point.
Thank you.
Re: what you post - every bit of it is irrelevant.
A late 1st in this draft for Rakell is a shit deal, and I bet if/when he's dealt he'll return more.I don't think anyone is saying that.

The extent to which you let a couple moves by Kyle Dubas affect your life and online persona makes it sad enough already, I think we can all say.If I cared what the majority of the regulars on HFPens thought about my posts, my life would be a much sadder existence than it already is.
I'd be a bit underwhelmed with just getting a 2025 1st back for Rakell, but any sort of 1st for Rakell is worth it. He's not the kind of guy that's going to bring back a 1st going forward, so even if it's a 2025 1st, you take advantage of selling him now.
You're not getting a better return for Rakell by holding onto him.

If you get a 2025 1st back and we luck into the NYR 25 1st, that would be three. I would be trying to move that 14th/15th OV up to 10th or so if there's a guy like Eklund, Desnoyers, or even McQueen available.I'd be a bit underwhelmed with just getting a 2025 1st back for Rakell, but any sort of 1st for Rakell is worth it. Remember how we never replaced his contributions and haven't won a playoff round since? He's also 32. Remember how we gave up a great player in Kessel according to you and then he proceeded to be such complete dog shit he was out of the league at 35.
I get it when you're talking Sid, Malkin, or Letang.
But not trading Rakell is legitimate lunancy. He is never going to have this value again. We can easily replace his impact on the team with a UFA or trade. Maccelli in Utah is probably a player we can get for a 2nd. And then do the whole thing over again.
That's underselling him. And a 16 point swing for a player's contributions is pretty considerable.Any 1sts are great deals for PIT right now. Just because it's a bad draft doesn't mean you can't hit on NHLers that are young.
You can easily get a similar impact to Rakell by playing a player in his minutes.
Some of us said the same things last year with Jake that we would be able to put a winger with Sid and get "similar" impacts.
Jake had a 36 goal pace and 85 pt pace last year.
Rakell has a 37 goal pace and 69 pt pace this year.
Send out Rakell for a 1st and whatever cap dump comes our way. Pay a 2nd or a 3rd for Maccelli. Plug him into the line up with Sid and do the same thing in a year or two.
With so many teams still in the race, the offers should be somewhat strong for Rakell. Starting with a 1st then a solid, not spectacular, prospect would be the minimum imo. Depending on the amount of teams bidding there's a chance it could go higher. Maybe a little better prospect or another pick thrown in such as a 3rd.But you can't jump on any old offer because you're convinced he's gonna regress either.

I agree we should trade Rakell. I just don't think its hair on fire important that we do it at the deadline. Ideally its before next season, but that's not the end of the world either.

I think it's fair to say that every single person here has been livid with a GM over some move they've made. I hate the Gudbranson trade and Kapanen trade by JR. I hated the Matheson and Marino trades by Hextall. I hated the Jarry, Graves, and Acciari signing by Dubas.I'm a Penguins fan.
Why would hiring a numbskull like Kyle Dubas who hasn't had any success in his career not make me upset?
I think you think I care about HFboards way more than I do lol.

You don't like POJ on the first pairing?
Dubas is going to overplay his hand I just know it. If Rakell is not held out of the lineup tomorrow that should tell you all you need to know.
Has little to do with not wanting to vs teams knowing the cap situation right now for a contract like EK and the willingness of FSG allowing Dubas to retain that long. You're f***ing psychotic if you're not working the phones hard to try and move Rakell and EK (with retention). Still think an EK deal has to wait until the off season but man, you have to give it a real shot by TDL.
Because Harding is a late-bloomer and is already 20 years old, he’ll be eligible to play in the AHL next season, sooner than most members of his draft class. Assuming he turns pro next season, that’s when his contract will begin.Harding's contract doesn't start until next year, so it slides. I don't think they can do that with Hayes.
You don't understand.Pens get a decent young option on Kolyachonok and Sullivan plays Graves instead. The excuses blokes make for Sullivan being forced to play these awful choices like he doesn't have better ones when he does will never not be f***ing comical.
He was claimed off waivers Feb 8th. Since Feb 8th to now, the Pens have played 6 games not including the day he was claimed.
Dumbest f***ing coach in the league.
