I think they're sitting with this now:

Rakell-Crosby-Rust
Bunting-Malkin-Glass
Beauvillier-Hayes-Tomasino
Heinen-Lizotte-Acciari
Imama

Grzelcyk-Karlsson
POJ-Letang
Shea-Desharnais
Graves-Koyta

I know Nieto sucks ass but I'm still surprised they're keeping Imama on the NHL roster over him.

Ding dong the witch is dead

This probably means Imama is coming off IR, which is frankly wild that they're keeping Imama on the roster over Nieto.

Nieto really, really, really sucks. But at least he is a hockey player, which is more than Imama can say even though Phil Bourque thinks Imama is the second coming of Rick Tocchet.

On a slightly different topic.... Ryan Graves sucks too. But at least he blocks some shots now and then and occasionally throws a hit. POJ does.... what, aside from sucking ten times worse than Graves? Keeping in mind that Sully is absolutely NOT voluntarily tanking and there's no other reason besides tanking for POJ to dress, anyone who might be deluded into thinking that Sully's grown a molecule of a brain should just wait until they see Thursday's lineup. Like I said yesterday, you simply don't scratch your "number one" LH defenseman, LOL.

Having said that, just watch: our peerless #1 LD will be sat down -- for one game -- at which point it will be discovered that Ryan Shea really isn't the next Sergei Gonchar and he (or Graves) will go back to eating the buffet during Pens' games.

Once they start trading some guys, I'd actually call up their non-top prospects and instead call up some of their lesser young players to let them play in the NHL. I'd keep McGroarty, Broz, Koivunen and Pickering in the AHL to let them finish the run with WBS while calling up guys like Poulin, Gruden, Kral and Ponomarev to fill the open spots from traded guys.

At minimum, I'd want to see Grzelcyk and Beauvillier and out and Kral (with Kotya replacing Grzelcyk) and Ponomarev called up. If you also move out an additional forward, I'd call up Poulin and bump Heinen up from L4. If say Glass also gets moved, run with:

Rakell-Crosby-Rust
Bunting-Malkin-Heinen
Ponomarev-Hayes-Tomasino
Poulin-Lizotte-Acciari

I figure that if Rakell gets moved, he'd be bringing a forward back like Moore as well. Just replace Rakell with any forward he'd bring back in a trade.

I think they have to keep him right now because hes hurt?

Nieto being waived means Imama is healthy.

I think the idea is put Nieto on waivers to see if anyone claims him. If not, they may still send Imama down.

But the reality is neither one may even play consistently in WBS.

The last WBS game featured

Bemstrom-Katchouk-Koivunen
McGroarty-Broz-Hayes
Poulin-Ponomarev-Puustinen
Calvert-Koppanen-Johnstone

With Lafrierre and De St. Phalle among the scratches.

There's only so much room at the inn.

WBS is going to start losing players with Beauvillier and Grzelcyk at minimum getting traded. Nieto will likely start playing for them then.

I think Ponomarev and probably Kral get recalled once Beauvillier and Ponomarev get traded. If another guy get moved, I think one of Bemstrom, Poulin or Puustinen would come up.

I'd let Pono stay in WBS. Call up Puustinen, Poulin, Bemstrom -- it's basically their last chance with this team. No strong opinion on the defense to call up.

I secretly love that the WBS third line is Poulin-Pono-Puustinen - all guys who've had NHL time.

I'm not sure they'd call up Bemstrom because Bemstrom is on their L1 and seems to be a major piece for them. Ponomarev is on L3 so he's having a lesser role.

It wouldn't surprise me but I'd call up Ponomarev before Bemstrom just to give Ponomarev a long look.

I will die on the hill that Garrett Wilson was actually good

Speaking of Scott Wilson was actually a very effective player for us in 2016. I don't understand how he just fell off a cliff.

POJ is really playing above his weight class and it's showing. He's fine as a 3/4 guy, but if you put him on the top pairing you're gonna have a bad time. And what a time we're having...yikes.

That being said, I've always liked POJ. I felt like with more coaching and instruction, they could have squeezed more out of him. But at the hands of Mike Sullivan, you're gonna get shit coaching

For sure a body or two will most likely get called up, I just hope WBS doesn't go in a funk and miss out on a playoff spot, cause once our season is done, those call ups are going straight back for their playoffs

Speaking of Scott Wilson was actually a very effective player for us in 2016. I don't understand how he just fell off a cliff.

Wilson is the same age as Brian Rust and was definitely a superior player to Rust in the AHL.

Wilson was doing fine (not great) in 2015-16 when his season was ended as the result of a cheap shot in a game vs. Columbus. In those days, rarely did a PIT-CBJ game go by without some Penguin getting hurt via a Columbus cheap shot. Even if we escaped relatively unscathed on some occasions, it wasn't for lack of Columbus' effort to injure.

Wilson therefore missed the entire playoffs while Rust, who was mainly a scrub who might score a goal or two now and then in between massive slumps, became super-clutch "Mister Game Seven" and went on to a solid, if overrated, career while Wilson never got his mojo back at all.

I'm very glad Nieto is being waived, Imama is no better but he's immensely more entertaining to watch, and if the tank is on, which it better be lol, they better not be trying to win and getting these results.... Anyways, since the tank is on, bad but entertaining players is fine by me.

So they went from basically in the 8th spot, to blowing multiple leads in tragic fashion, to getting absolutely destroyed on a nightly basis by mid teams. Again, I’m not mad about losses that help us get better draft picks, but someone from the organization needs to explain why the Penguins are the only team in North American sports history that is basically in a free fall, well below stated expectations and they make no drastic changes to the roster or coaching.

Lol, poor IC...you silly, silly man. Here, let me explain it to you. You see, if you fire Mike Sullivan, you have to look for a Mike Sullivan. So why fire Mike Sullivan? Mike Sullivan is the best Mike Sullivan you're going to get.

You understand?
