Just saw Marner is tied with McDavid in points.

Give him all the money
I think they might re-sign him.
If they give him $14 million and JT $10 million, they'd have about $7 million to re-sign a handful of RFAs. Dewar, Robertson, Timmins, Holmberg and Knies. Knies being the only one that could cripple that equation amongst the rfas.
Seems doable from my recliner unless I'm missing something.

Depending on how the playoffs go I could see him walking away regardless.

Of course Tavares could throw the whole equation out of whack too. But being a hometown boy, I don't think he tries to break the bank.

Dubas will move a couple players but he will use those returns as to picks to draft a center with all those picks and then take the pens pick and offer sheet the Pens pick for a quality center. Main board has Valardi from the Jets for example a RFA that teams may go after. thinking he will get a nice offer for Karlsson with cap increasing. I move Rust as a RW RH shot is in demand. Have all the picks including a potential Rangers pick at 14 as well. So yes I offer Galardi and draft a young center to move up for a top 6 center in the draft. Pens are much closer to retool than rebuild then. Now unless Rakell can bring back a incredible haul, I keep him.

Starting to come to it being 100% necessary for the Penguins to capitalize on Raks awesome season.

Whether that means a trade before the deadline or in the summer, this team NEEDS to trade him. They don’t have many tradable assets to accelerate a rebuild.
The key thing is actually getting good value for him. If all teams offer is a 2025 1st + cap dump then no thanks. There's still value in keeping Rakell around to play with Sid

Better than Jakes deal for sure. Better than the Petts deal. Multiple picks and top prospect before I move him.
