Lol, no way. The 3rd/4th covers Ceci.Ceci is in there so I still get to relieve myself in it.
With Malkin healthy, I think you're now sitting with this F group with the Pettersson and O'Connor trade:
Rakell-Crosby-Rust
Bunting-Malkin-Tomasino
Beauvillier-Glass-Heinen
Lizotte-Hayes-Acciari
What I'm hoping they do is trade Bunting and Beauvillier for futures and call up McGroarty and Koivunen to replace them. I'd likely go Koivunen on L2 and McGroarty on L3. I think they need to trade both Bunting and Beauvillier to open up spots for young guys, since Heinen is likely not going anywhere.
The big concern I have with getting Heinen back is that I think he probably slides into the offensive producer on L3 role, which is where Tomasino should be at. I would like Tomasino to slide up to Malkin's RW, but I think it's more likely that Tomasino ends up in the press box. I think the more likely outcome is:
Rakell-Crosby-Rust
Bunting-Malkin-Koivunen
McGroarty-Glass-Heinen
Lizotte-Hayes-Acciari
With Tomasino scratched.
Rakell, Bunting, Beauvillier, Grzelcyk, and Karlsson should all be on the block. Buyers are paying so go get paid.
I think you're probably right on the EK trade timing, but I'd still look to see what's out there now.I don't think you can easily move all 5 of those guys with only 1 retention slot. You're definitely using it on Karlsson and you may want to retain on Bunting or Grzelcyk as well.
I'd keep Rakell unless you're getting a strong return for him. Bunting, Beauvillier and Grzelcyk all go at the deadline and Karlsson goes after his signing bonus in July.

Bunting I think you can get good value on by doing the same kind of trash collection they did on the Petterson deal. Grzelcyk is cheap enough someone else will retain him down to 50% for like a 5th round pick if need be.
Rakell is where I would get really aggressive. I think retaining him down to 50% could bring back a two 1st rounders worth of value. There's not a better goal scorer on the market and every contender could slot him in at 2.5MM.
They should ALL be called up. You want reinforcements for WBS? Here you go, Imama, Nieto, Shea...done.I'm not against McGroarty and Koivunen getting called up post deadline but I'd be quite tempted just to keep them in WBS and build up a head of steam for the AHL playoffs. I think you have to call up Ponomarev and get him 3rd line minutes, he's waiver eligible next season so you have to give him a nice long look at the NHL level before camp.

This is nonsense that we keep the AHLers at the NHL level and the NHL talent at the AHL level.
We just got older after making a seller's trade. Who does that?
Sullivan ain't going anywhere. So they may as well start learning on the job. They have to ready for all that comes with Mike Sullivan's coaching, and I would rather they know what they are up against now as opposed to being overwhelmed in training camp next year.Only makes sense if we put them in position to suceed. I'd rather not ruin Koivunen's confidence by playing him for 10 NHL games, 12 minutes a night and he only puts up 2 points.
Maybe, each of the moves that have been made recently have been made out of necessity. Vancouver had to move Miller, Dallas needed to replace Seguin, Marchment, Miro, etc. We needed to move Pettersson when the iron was hot. Just a bunch of moves that teams need to finish out the year vs loading up at the TDL.Rakell, Bunting, Beauvillier, Grzelcyk, and Karlsson should all be on the block. Buyers are paying so go get paid.
Decent players on bad teams. Karlsson got em a 1st as well.Getting a 1st for Granlund is some wizardry.
Mike Grier is doing a great job there

Karlsson at least had/has the rep of having once been a star player. Granlund was never that.Decent players on bad teams. Karlsson got em a 1st as well.
And we keep getting older, so the coach feels comfortable. The best move Dubas has made in quite some time. While he has been below average at best (actually, terrible considering Graves, Jarry and Karlsson) as a buyer, he has done well as a seller with the Guentzel deal and this one.
Our farm system has now gone from historically terrible to just below average, trending to average by the 2025 draft and very good by the 2026 draft.
Dubas just really needs to sell other GMs on the fact that Gryz randomly turns into like prime Sergei Zubov once he gets on the powerplay.Grzelcyk and a 3rd for a 2nd and I never have to look up how to spell his name again.

Surely someone needs that
Honestly, despite a crappy starts, he's rounded into form decently well. I don't have the hatred for him I once did. If you're lacking a 3rd pairing puck mover and need a 2PPQB, there are much worse options out there. A 3rd for him would be a very standard TDL addition for playoff teams.Dubas just really needs to sell other GMs on the fact that Gryz randomly turns into like prime Sergei Zubov once he gets on the powerplay.
