Remember when Lizotte was literally our best player during our best stretch of the season so Sullivan thought yo I can make him the next Blueger and totally ruined his, and the teams, momentum. Jackass.
As much as I love dumping on Sullivan, Lizotte got concussed, which stopped his hot streak. Dubas then picked up Tomasino which bumped everybody down the lineup. When he came back, the only spot for him was on the 4th line, but that is mostly because Sullivan refuses to make proper lines.

For what it's worth, Haase has Nieto and Acciari rotating, not Lizotte.

Rickard Rakell - Sidney Crosby - Bryan Rust
Michael Bunting - Evgeni Malkin - Cody Glass
Anthony Beauvillier - Kevin Hayes - Phil Tomasino
Drew O’Connor - Blake Lizotte - Noel Acciari/Matt Nieto

Don't overlook the psychopath being completely barefoot on the plane as well.

Can take the dude outta Lawng Islant but you can't take the Lawng Islant outta the dude. smh

I mean to give him SOME even tiny partial credit (or perhaps to help explain) he sure looks/talks like he just got done taking a truly heroic bong rip or something.

Also this is no surprise. Hockey players seem to have some truly horrific taste in music/TV/movies/etc. Every time they do some puff piece on the roster's favorite songs it's a who's who of complete tripe. Like... you'd be hard pressed to come up with a worse list of songs while TRYING.

No, Lizotte's hotstreak came after getting concussed.

Recap of Dubas on his bimonthly appearance on the GM Show with Josh Getzoff. Nothing earth shattering. He addressed the rumors of a fire sale:

“I think as the year goes on, there's always a lot of conversation. I think every team in the league knows what we're trying to achieve. As our actions have shown from last March on, we're trying to bring in younger NHL players, we're trying to bring in prospects, and we're trying to bring in draft picks, with the goal being to quickly develop those assets into people that can help the core group of the team here win one more time and then set the team up for the long-range future. That's the goal, and that's our ambition, and that's what we're going to continue to continue to do, and we're not going to stray from that. But to say that it's a fire sale, and we're willing to retain money on very long-term deals – you know, I understand how that stuff starts to get out and take on a life of its own, but it's not accurate. So, we've had lots of conversations. But, are we telling teams that everything must go? No, we're not.”

I honestly don't even really see a spot for O'Connor next year assuming the Hallander rumor ends up not true. You already have Rakell, Bunting, Hallander and McGroarty as your LW depth, and the only guy O'Connor might displace there is McGroarty. I don't think that's worth paying him any notable amount of money.

That said I would be fine with keeping him, but it has to be for a Lizotte type of deal (like 2 years at $1.5 million or so) to be a 4th liner. I think their 3rd line wingers for next year should be Hallander and one of McGroarty, Tomasino or Koivunen.

Would have been a great plan a few years ago.

I would venture the guess that if Dubas has the opportunity to move EK amd it comes down to retention, he would opt to make the move and take a potentially lesser return on Pettersson.

I don't think Pettersson is brining in a haul that makes the loss significant vs sending out EK.

From Friedman:

With all of the noise around the Penguins, I believe they have interest in some of Buffalo’s younger, NHL-ready prospects. It fits what they want.
