Boston Bruins 24-25 Roster/Cap thread XX

The same reason why anyone signs anywhere: money. It's not the only factor obviously but it gets them at the table. Bruins organization have built a good reputation around the league for being first class, something a lot of players around the league take note of and have openly talked about when coming here.

How much do you think the Bruins would have to pay for Poink? He's 30 years old and would be a 2nd pair player here.

Bruins need to make some moves this offseason. Bruins could use a few veterans and a top 4D. I think 7/12 forwards next season are locked in Pastrnak, Lindholm, Geekie, Mittelstadt, Poitras, Minten, and Kastelic.

Playmakers posted an article with projected contracts and it had Pionk at 7 mill a year. I'd do it - any hopes of the Bruins making the playoffs in future iterations of the team will die if Peeke/Joker are the options at #2RHD. The downside of course being the huge investment cap space wise into the blueline with an offense that's struggled to score. But the Bruins need a RHD like Pionk who can help offensively from the 2nd pairing and step up when McAvoy suffers his annual injury.

I agree.

But $7 mil (and how many years?) may not even be enough.

If it wasn't for that nasty Cap thing, I'd love to have him.

Pastrnak has been with him since he came in and from all accounts likes him a lot~ McAvoy as well

Geekie with Monty 17 games 1 G
Geekie with Sacco 56 games 28 G

I hate to bum out the masses but he’s very respected by the players and was handed 3 1/2 weeks ago a tank to navigate
Am I reading you right, you are in the keep Sacco camp.

If say they draft Misa, would you maybe go after an RFA? Say Knies in Toronto? Might be an incentive for his Arizona buddy to come to Boston. In a couple of years you could line up this for your top 6. Bit different top 9 for sure compared o now...lol.

Knies would be a nice add, and Marner, to go with him.............Maple Leaf fans heads would explode lets do it..........

I would for sure offer sheet Knies if Toronto ends up retaining Marner as its going to put them in a bit of a bind if they do.

But Im offering in the high $2,290,458 - $4,580,917 range so we dont have to give up this years 1st. And at that point, Toronto will probably do what they can to match that number. (reference: https://puckpedia.com/offer-sheet-tracker)

Are you allowed to offer sheet two players at the same time?

Maybe offer sheet Knies at that range, knowing the Leafs will match, but also offer sheet Robertson at a number that is maybe a little higher than ideal, but one that will prevent Toronto from matching.

Not saying he's Jarri Kurri -- but two seasons of 14 goals on a team loaded with forward talent and is still only 23 -- he'd be a good 3LW for us, IMO.

Maybe he produces more in a bigger role -- like Geekie has.

Didn't St Louis just do that last offseason with Holloway and Broberg?

I like your strategy but I’d alter it just a tad. Offer sheet knies, so either the leafs can’t match if they want to sign Marner and if they do match, sign Marner.

Not sure thou if the Bruins can offer enough, do to lack of their own picks🤷‍♂️

> Bruins sign Marner for less than Toronto offers
> Bruins target Knies
> Tavares decides to leave
> Leafs fail to make playoffs, move players at deadline, and their 2026 1st that we own gets lotteried into McKenna

LMFAO!! A guy can dream

You think they move Zacha or did you just forget him? He’s a good trade chip for sure if you find an upgrade, but wish it was Mittelstadt instead for money purposes and the Czech connection staying alive

Offer sheets will be for 2026 draft picks. Bruins have all of theirs. Having said that the amount of years calculated for aav is 5 though not the full term.

So say for giggles they offer someone a 6 million 7 year contract. Thats 42 million.
But for cap purposes it would be divided by 5 not 7.
So aav of 8.4 M not 6M.

How about signing him to 6 years…say $5.5-$6M?
Multi-faceted gamble. You are betting McAvoy and Lindholm don't miss major time again, that Swayman isn't actually a sieve, that anything you draft will make the roster and impact it, and most importantly, that nothing happens to David Pastrnak.

Also, that 6th season is poison for offer sheets.
