Boston Bruins 24-25 Roster/Cap thread XX

Guessing this is what is on tap for next year?

Poitras not a lock imo either. It;s just not a great group even if you add a couple UFA
Without bringing anyone else in they could roll out.

Geekie Mittlestadt Pastrnak
Zacha Lindholm Poitras
Khunsutdinov Minten Kastelic
Lauko Beecher Kopetke

McAvoy Lohrei
Lindholm Wortherspoon
Zadorov Peeke

It's not dynasty level, no, but depending on the UFA adds and whoever they get in the draft (that should be able to play in the league next year), it could be decent. You factor in a restored D corps, and a Swayman bounce back and you have a playoff team. Probably not a cup contender, but you never know. Alternatively, it is a team that misses again, but shouldn't be a lottery team, either.
I wouldn't count on anyone taken 4th playing in the NHL next year. It's possible. But Sennecke was taken 3rd last year and didn't make it. Obviously Lindstrom and Demidov had non-"not ready" reasons but even if healthy, Lindstrom isn't in the NHL this year. Will Smith wasn't in the NHL in his D+1. Cooley didn't, Wright got 8 games but that was it, Gauthier wasn't.

I agree having McAvoy and Lindholm back and Swayman should be better, but the F corps is very much below average, and unfortunately, going out and spending on free agents to address that probably isn't worth the long term investment. Better to make marginal gains and keep building.

I don't think this is going to be a quick turnaround, and trying to rush it will make things worse.

I agree, they need two impact forwards to round out the top 6.

But they also can't go into next year with Peeke or Joker as the top 4 RHD and expect to compete for a playoff spot IMO.

If Lindholm and Poitras, is your second line you are already behind the 8-ball. Minten has been called up for tonight's game, looking forward to seeing him, and see what we have there. I have seen enough of what else they have in so called prospects, none of them cut it for me.

That's just a starting point roster without bringing in anyone in the offseason. If Marchand comes back and/or they sign a couple guys it can shake out however.

That is not a good starting point in my opinion, and resigning Marchand is not moving forward, sorry for being so harsh. I think Marner is a must signing, never thought the day would come when I would say that.

Marchand coming back slows the rebuild. The decision was made to let him go, now live with it and move forward with some new blood.

I only offered it as what they have going into the offseason and how those guys could fit before adding anything.

Don't agree, time to move on. Let the new leaders make their mark and whoever is chosen to be the next captain make it his team.

Bringing him back makes no sense to me if Im team building from these ashes
Who's a better, cheaper, more hardworking guy you want on the LW- or is this another choice to take a step back in hopes that it will mean two steps forward later?

Not putting it on you, but I have seen the same names being put out there and they just do not inspire me, and I do not see that as a way forward. I think we are in agreement this team really awful.

That could very well be how it goes. I am going to try to remain optimistic till it becomes idiotic to continue  I think forward-wise there are some things that need to break the Bruins way, inckuding an NHL-ready draft pick as unlikely as that is, and a couple of the young guys stepping up would be a big part of it. I don't see the team as a lottery team next season either way, but they might not be great, I'll give you that.

Last shot at explaining- that lineup is just who's under contract for next year (assuming RFAs like Geekie stick).

They also will have 20+ million in cap space to add. I'd assume they will use it.

I understand what you are saying, last chance explaining that lineup sucks and they best use that cap space wisely.

They do have a lot of cap space, but a lot of teams have more, and the FA market is not good, unless you want to lock in the AARP roster

Some of these projected numbers are funny. Boeser at 9? lol, I can’t imagine more than 7 after this year. Marner feels low but love him for that. Ehlers low.

-Don’t know how Dallas pays Duchene even half the money he deserves without sending names out, and that’s before resigning Benn.
- Perbix could be solid, especially if you trade Peeke.
- we need the next “ Drouin”, someone cheap that ends up putting up points on the left side.
-Hall would be a stabilizing vet that can score in the middle 6
- Bennet price seems appropriate. No way I sign him without a bigger upgrade to wing and center first though.
- Roslovic would be solid on the third line for 500k less.
- Donato for 2.4? Wouldn’t hate that for depth. That helps us with Geekie signing too.
- Pionk prevents you from adding an impact scorer up top without moving names out, but great for 2nd pairing.
-Ekblad too many miles on him, but would be an excellent RD behind Mac
- Gavrikov…

Given the lack of depth in this years FA I can’t see Boeser getting less than that projection.

25-30 goal guys are valuable and with so many teams bidding I think he’ll get something pretty crazy.
