  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Because Marner will be signed for more than what Pasta is making.
So Pasta is Ray Bourque and nobody can make more than him? Sinden used Bourque as his personal salary cap for years and they won nothing and Bourque had to go to Colorado to win a Cup. Marner would be a huge addition to a terrible offensive team and is still young. Pay him what he wants.

Attempt at a roster for next season. Traded Korpisalo (having a solid season) to Edmonton for a 2027 3rd round pick.

Ehlers 6 year deal. Boeser 7 year deal. Jokihatju 3 year deal.

Color me shocked if you can get Ehlers for 7.75, you also missed signing Geekie who I take over Boeser any day given the cost difference and chemistry with the team already.

I left Geekie out as I think he will ask for too much money. Can't blame him but I wouldn't sign him for big dollars. Boeser is a more proven player.

Maybe don't sign any of these players and make a massive pitch to Marner?

Seeing some people mention JJ Peterka but why the heck would Buffalo move him?

Unless he specifically asked out because Buffalo is Buffalo but other than that, it makes no sense.

Jack Quinn I could definitely see. Benched throughout the year, injured here and there, disciplined for missing a team meeting.

Might be more realistic unless I’m missing something?
Peterka seems a less likely move unless something bigger comes across their field of vision, but maybe that’s the plan… they have something like 15 players on RFA/UFA by 2026 summer and maybe are worried about giving him something that roadblocks the rest? I think since they moved Cozens they are less likely to do that though. That said, they do have some names that will require a decent pay check in the next couple years. Their team is quite young and maybe they want some more vet experience too. Personally, I wouldn’t trade him, but happy to acquire him! There are younger, less proven names that would still be enticing as well if you are doing biz with them for potentially lower acquisition cost.

Nah. Geekie stays.

If I'm gonna splash money over the summer, its gonna be for a Center. Sam Bennett.

I wouldn't turn my nose up at Matt Duchene either, if the terms were reasonable.

IDK. Bennet's soft as chewed bubble gum side show that game recently soured me on him.

If you're gonna be a dirty rat you better be tough. It's why I had respect for Marchy, but very little left for Bennet

Want no part of Bennet only because I feel he’ll get a kings ransom but he’s far from soft. He’s actually one tough cookie.

Also last reports were he and Florida were getting closer to an extension

That Beecher pick just continues to look worse and worse given they drafted him with the expectation of 3rd/4th line ceiling.

Of course that was the Frederic pick not the Beecher pick, where the scouting director who was on his way out the door said they took him as a 3rd line upside or whatever it was

Beecher was the guy buried on a ridiculously talented US National program that had 8 players picked in he first round, but showed well in a limited role. It was always said that at worst he'd be a 3rd/4th line type, but had potential to be a legit power forward. Pronman said he had more potential than Frederic.

They thought Michigan would help Beecher develop some offensive game.

They were simply incorrect. It happens.

250k to spare. Traded Peeke and Korpi. Lund might go for even less honestly. Hall and Drouin other great names if you can make the money work instead of Cuylle. Would probably go with Deeps over Bussi.

You don't have to like him. He's just gotta produce......And he does.
I was all for bringing him in when he was on the block in Calgary, but no way would I touch him now for the $ it will cost. There's way too big a chance he turns back into a pumpkin he was before he landed in FLA.

In his 11/12 years in the league he has cracked 20 goals just three times and might hit 50pts for the first time this year.

This team as constructed, with a healthy Mac and Lindy, a shiny new top 6 winger, and a new coach to start camp, will be in the wild card position at the least. It sounds like you’re thinking they will be top 10 again, which they would need to blow the roster up for.
I agree with you i dont think this team will ended as a lottery team next year, so try to get a proven young skilled player via offersheet with their 1st pick is a better option at least its a certainty
