Tavares will be 35 prior to the start of next season, but you wouldn’t be going long term for him. He is still an effective player at that age.

I wouldn’t say he’s option one for me, but the Bruins could do worse than one year of him in your top 6.

Genuinely don’t understand scoffing at him when the Bruins current center depth is Zacha, Mittelstadt, Lindholm, and Poitras. And I like most of these players too
I’m not scoffing exactly. But cap space is limited and I’m not choosing to blow it on a player in his mid-30s.

Well , I don't think there is any chance you are getting him for a year. More likely you have to commit to 3-4 years, and you likely have to be the top bidder. I just think it is unrealistic, because I think Tavares will want to go someplace to chase a ring, and I doubt Boston can sell him on that
Absolutely fair on all points. I don’t think it’s likely he leaves Toronto, never mind for the Bruins. I just think that if it were to happen they could do much worse.

I’m not clamoring for it, as I mentioned in my initial post it wouldn’t be my top option. Given the state of the market though he may very well be the best free agent option for them.

Tank again for McKenna who is riding a 38 game pt streak :sarcasm::thumbu:.That kid is a franchise changer.

But tanking is very hard. If they add no one alin day and come to camp with everyone healthy they are likely not a playoff team, but also like not the worst team in hockey. And even if you are the worst team in hockey it only gives you a 25.5% chance at McKenna.

I know ,I am just having some fun.Boy would that type player be nice here though.Bruins rarely ever get that type player..

Is Tavares desperate for a job or something? 30 goals already (good for 17th in the league and only 8 off the pace of Nylander for 2nd overall in the NHL. (19 skaters with 30-38 goals this year, only Draisaitl has pulled ahead of the field with 49). In goals-per game only Leon, OV, Point and Tage Thompson have been better.

He's looking at a Stamkos-like contract this summer, probably 4 years at a minimum 8 million AAV unless he takes a haircut to stay a Maple Leaf.

If he is looking at 4 - years, 8 million, he can go join Stamkos in Nashville.

I don't really care where he goes but he's not coming to Boston. I don't see Bruins management making that sort of commitment to him, I don't see him having any desire to play for the Bruins. Why would he want to sign with a current bottom-feeder team at this juncture of his career?

I agree, but that is just crazy thinking anyways.

I’m with you—Khusnutdinov looks promising.

Zellers got goal #40 last night for Green Bay. He got to 40 goals faster than Celebrini did in the USHL.

To be fair he is also 2 years older than Celebrini was when he did it. Mack is 2 months younger and already has 52 points in 58 games at the NHL level

But still very exciting season for Zellers, I look forward to seeing what he can do at the NCAA level next year

Yea apples to oranges right now.Be nice though if he can get to the NHL and be a difference maker for Boston.I will gladly take that.

I have to change my address. I never liked the location name Watertown.

I live in Newton now.

That fits, as Bowie's character in "The Man Who Fell to Earth" (1976)

was Thomas Jerome Newton.
Sinatra did a song about Watertown N.Y. I have never seen Man who Fell had plenty of chances too see it too. I hear it is quite good. He also did a prisoner of war pic called Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence which I heard was good.

"The Man Who Fell to Earth" is an inscrutable mess or a noble failure, depending on your point of view.

David is very good in it though.

Back in 1983, my girlfriend and I scored free tickets to see "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence" at the old Cheri theater on Boylston Street. It's a good movie, and Bowie is good in the title role.

He never properly transitioned from stage to screen, though he harbored hopes of doing so.

You can't always get what you want,

Ask Nick Roeg, who directed Mick & David in both films.

Thanks did not know it was the same director-and a famous one at that. I used to be quite a movie fan.

He's an interesting director.

See you at the movies.

Perhaps I should amend that salutation these days,

👀
.
Full Body Massage: The greatest film of all time.

I kid… Don’t Look Now is a masterpiece. And I love Bad Timing and Walkabout as well. Still never watched The Man Who Fell to Earth though.
