You can have Clifton back too lol.
Ryan Johnson & Rosen would be interesting ~ I like Rosen but I’d go Johnson and one of Ostlund, Helenius, or Rosen

Buffalo has so much depth it’s insane at F position they could keep Peterka (stud), Quinn, Kulich, Benson, and 3 of 4 of Rosen, Ostlund, Helenius, and Whalberg

Sweeney & Adams former teammates and done deals

You could do Geekie & Carlo for ?????

Johnson buried but I like him a lot

Why Frost? He's nearly 26, his last coach hated him and he was just traded for a pu-pu platter of junk.

I'd think Carlo would command a better primary piece. Or, I'd hope he would.

The other half of the roster are supposed to be role players. The way I see it they started out a top6 forward short and then Lindholm failing out them 2 down. The bottom 6 struggled because Coyle and Frederic struggled but I don’t think going into the season, it was flawed to think they’d form a good 3rd line. I also don’t think there’s anything wrong with 3 offensive minded D and 3 defensive minded guys (though I’d argue they believed Zadorov was more of a two way guy than a defensive D). It’s not like that D setup is uncommon.

I have less of an issue with the D. On paper it should of been OK, but it's been doggy-poo. They shouldn't be looking to run it back. I see it as one offensive D, 2 two-way guys (C-Mac, Hampus), and 3 defensive types. I think we agree that at least one of Carlo or Peeke should be shifted out for a more two-way guy based off previous conversations.

But role players or not, you need some production out of your bottom two lines to have a legitimate change of success.

These role players aren't even doing their role. The 4th line doesn't score, doesn't sustain forecheck pressure, doesn't defend well. The 3rd line has given this team nothing basically all year at any end of the ice, the only exception was the brief time they had Frederic with Coyle and Kastelic and even then that was a very small sample size.

The forward group is the fatal flaw of this year's squad. Not talented enough at the top end, and their depth players didn't do their job quite frankly with maybe the exception of Kastelic. If I'm Sweeney, I'm looking to overhaul 50% of the forward group this off-season one way or another. Can this pro scouting group find the right replacements? I'm not hopeful quite frankly given how many whiffs they've had recently.

Love Marchy but he isn't in the Bergy tier to me to warrant keeping if trading him can make the team better. If you can get a 1st + for him in my mind you have to pull the trigger and see if he wants to come back.
Yea that is route I would go .It speeds up everything.I mean they are not winning anytime soon & he is aging out.I am a huge Marchand fan to but business is business.

Did you just read the headline or watch the clip? “It is real, the only thing stopping it is them (Crosby Marchand) deciding”
I watched the clip.

It sounded more like he was saying "the Avs want 87/63 and have made it clear that they are willing to put a deal together should that opportunity arise" rather than "there's a deal in place (a la Ullmark with LA last year) already and we're waiting on 87/63 to wave their NMCs".

Nothing really there except him saying the AVs will do it and Marchand and Crosby would have to approve. Yea No $hit!

I'm usually not super skeptical at this time of year, because we've seen crazier things happen.

But this one would really surprise me --- even though it seems logical on many fronts.

1. Pitt and Boston are going nowhere.

2. Sid and Marchy are friends (not sure if they're super friends, BFF's, or just buddies --- but they have chemistry and a history) And each is running out of chances for another cup.

3. Colorado jumps from contender to top contender pretty quickly.

Just do it!
