The TANK is on!
Nice to see them giving the youth a chance...hopefully they are just paper transactions
Carlo says I’m not going to Western Canada.Brandon Carlo for Rasmus Andersson
Andersson is the better offensively player, Carlo much better on the defensive side of things.
Bruins need offense from the back end, Flames need a defensive defenseman badly.
Trade would make a ton of sense.
Who says no?
I would tend to agree. Would you take a first for him? He's way better than Smith who even in his prime wasn't much of a player IMO. Strictly a volume shooter. Never wanted him here, cringed when they signed him.
Is his shooting % sustainable? No. Fact is, in the past 40 games, he's scored 19 goals and 10 assists, and he only recently has found himself on the 1st PP unit.
He's a complimentary player, I don't expect 40 goals and 20 assists over a full season. But 25-30 goals is still a very useful player. You say his shot isn't accurate but he's the 2nd best shooter on this team by a country mile. It's a shooters league now, one reason why the Bruins this year suck, nowhere near enough shooting talent.
Only way I deal him is an severe overpayment by another team, or outlandish contract demands.
He's from Colorado. Why would he say no to Western Canada?Carlo says I’m not going to Western Canada.

My understanding is that most wives and families don’t want to live in that climate unfortunately. If that’s the life his family wants then that seems like a win for all. He's from Colorado. Why would he say no to Western Canada?
Agreed, given that the odds of getting a player as good as Geekie outside the top 10-15 are fairly slim.Would have to be a top 15 pick. Not letting him go for a late 1st,
Course Brad would stay at 37 while they move the 26 yr old.Don't want to nobody upset here when he over pays him either because you can smell it comingI move Geekie while he hot, Brad is not going anywhere. Watch Coyle

Is it closer to Colorado where his family is then Boston..Just saying...Sweeney not trading him anyhow ....Carlo says I’m not going to Western Canada.

Yea well Boston is like on another planet compared to both places. Not sure where he wife is from .
that said, Colorado and Western Canada are not very similar, other than the mountains.
You are right that B's are 11th -- but games in hand come into play.Is that right? The Bruins are 11th from last place. Is there something I’m missing when it comes to draft order?
I would love to be in the top 8 already with 20 games to go haha.
EDIT: Puck Pedia has them picking 11th at the moment. I think Tankathon is incorrect.
This is exactly correct.Rather use money to pay Geekie then Marchand unless Brad staying dirt cheap.Geekie fits well with Bruins best player too.26-27 year old that can potentially give you 25-30 goals. I can't move him for another crack at a Beecher/Frederic/Vaakainanen/etc. level of prospect.
The next contract is the great unknown. I have no idea what that looks like.
Yup ..just keep losing & it will take care of itself.Top8 pick will bring something good.Maybe they can trade up too.You are right that B's are 11th -- but games in hand come into play.
Think they are basing 8th on current point percentage.
Realistically the best B's could end up with is the 7th pick. Going to be hard to outsuck Pittsburgh.
More leash? The guy can’t draft and makes terrible signings. He’s had the most leash in the NHL over the last decade. Time to say goodbye. There is a top prospect with the last name bear in the first round . Perfect fit .
Don started well with the trent trade let's give him more leash before the walk to the plank with shark infested waters.
I think if they're in the top 8 they will get a really good player. This prospect pool is so barren of top end talent I don't think they can afford to just draft a center if one isn't available. You are right that B's are 11th -- but games in hand come into play.

Love Marchy but he isn't in the Bergy tier to me to warrant keeping if trading him can make the team better. If you can get a 1st + for him in my mind you have to pull the trigger and see if he wants to come back.Course Brad would stay at 37 while they move the 26 yr old.Don't want to nobody upset here when he over pays him either because you can smell it coming
Imo he’ll go the way of Lauko. He’ll find himself a role on some teams 4th line assuming he can adapt his style a bit to become a mucker. Forecheck and learn how to kill penalties he can still carve himself out a nice career as a JAG.Merk kinda deserves it imo.
When your only plus skill in the NHL is apparently your shot and you look that bad with it last night? I'll make a bold take here; that game will be the end of his chances at this level.
He's already 24. At this point time really isn't on his side.
how are they picking 8th?Wait I want the Bruins as high as possible (8 and under) and the Blues the pick in back of them
They basically suck but we have one less point so out first is high say 7 and they pick 8 and 40 (but we have the 40th pick)
