Marchy making sure we get a nice package and weaken Tampa so he can sign back in the offseason and beat them next year ;)

Marchy beating the Leafs in the playoffs for the 100th time only to sign back here and getting us the other Geekie.

....but if we are going to trade all of our existing 3rd & 4th line players for draft picks that are well above market (as many on this board are suggesting), SOMEBODY'S gotta play on those lines?

Donnie will use his first and second round picks and we all know they will be the third and fourth liners, just going on Donnie's, track record.

I know Carlo is the whipping boy on these pages, but he is a solid shut down D with 2 more years on a bargain contract that is going to be dirt cheap with the cap going up. I would expect a very good return if we move him.
I would be surprised if he''s not used in a player trade along with the picks we got today.

We could have had PLD

We could have had Duschene

We could have had Tarasenko

Sweener needs to realize that trading for skilled players that needs a change of scenery is the way to go. The team is lacking top 6 talent big time.

Look at how the Celtics built the Championshio team and take notes.
Bunch of BS! Never was going to happen on all 3 players!

Seems Carlo is the whipping boy around here. I dont see the benefit in moving a steady defenseman on a good contract and making a hole in our blue line. Who do we fill that hole with? Carlo chews up a ton of PK minutes has that long reach.. just dont see it. We keep lethargic losers like Coyle and Zacha who should be purged but shoot a glaring hole in our absolutely devastated defense?
I love Carlo. So I’m ok with keeping him. But what if the return is a first and a second and a prospect?

IF the magic number to trade for a 1st line C was:

Three 1sts
Two 2nds

(I know that is steep but let's say that's the worst/highest price to get a 1st line C for Pastrnak) can the Bruins get there with trades this week?

Need two more 1sts, and a 2nd in trades this year going into the draft. I don't trust this regime with 1st round picks based on the last decade. This year will be the 10th year since Charlie McAvoy. He is the only 1st worth currently mentioning:

McAvoy
Lysell
Beecher
Letourneau

2025 will be the 10th year (a decade of Bruins 1sts moved or drafted) and these are all that remain. I expect Beecher to be gone Friday, Letourneau to take 3 more years and Lysell to possibly be moved as well.

If I'm Carolina and I'm moving Rantanen, I'd look to a team like Boston, won't face them in the playoffs and get 2-3 pieces in exchange.

Carlo + Coyle + Lysell for a signed Rantenan?

Being able to toss out Pasta then Rantenan as your 1A/1B RW combo for the next 5 years is enticing.

Coyle and Lysell are barely NHL players now.

"It's Pastrnak, Swayman, McAvoy. Those are the only 3 players the Bruins have made known throughout the league that they're not listening on."

What in the world is this front office's love affair with Jeremy Swayman?
Probably because no one is calling about the rest.

Sweeney: (Shouting)'No one bother calling me about Pastrnak, Swayman or McAvoy, okay?!?!'
Other GMS: (Silence)
*Phone doesn't ring until June before the draft to say hi*
