Boston Bruins 24-25 Roster/Cap thread XVII

Coyle has not had his best year, but with one more year on his contract, he certainly is not the biggest priority on this roster to rid of. I soon so many forget what he gave this team last year.
I totally get this outlook and there is likely more merit to it then dumping the guy for peanuts when they still need to fill a roster of NHL players next year but a lot of things he did last year so well he seems to not be able to do at all this season and if it's an injury or a team talent issue I can agree with giving him another shot but when he is saying how important every game and point is and how this team has something to prove/ has that next level and goes out there and does some of the stuff he does it raises questions on what happened to the guy. Luckily for him the whole team has massively underperformed except Pasta and maybe Marchand so maybe next year we will see a bit of the old coyle back if they can get the right line/fit for him.

Did you say that last year about Coyle when the team needed someone to stepup, and be a 2 C, and put up 60 points, but want to anoint this kid Poitra, who has done absolutely nothing all season, and the only guarantee you get from this kid is that he is going to get plastered at least one time each game.
Last season was mostly a mirage for him, his underlying numbers mostly pointed to a guy that was getting smoked at 5v5 and was consistently bailed out by elite goaltending. And I did say that at the time, and in the offseason.

And I am not against moving him if the price is right, but just not willing to do to satisfy the haters.

No their not. Conroy been very public he wants to sign Anderson to an extension and Anderson has openly said he wants to remain a Flame.

Calgary Flames general manager Craig Conroy is surprised that he’s receiving calls regarding a trade for top defenseman Rasmus Andersson. Never has Conroy discussed Andersson on the trade market and he’s one of the best defensemen on the Flames’ roster as they hunt down a playoff spot.

According to TSN’s Pierre LeBrun on Insider Trading, the Flames don’t plan on trading Andersson any time soon, if ever. He’s a useful piece and they’re not in sell mode.
Hey if Conroy says it that's fine.He is signed 1 more season on great deal but the rumors here in Calgary have definitely been flying.Flames are probably missing playoffs too but better chance then Bruins I would think so keeping him makes sence.

Hey you might be right about moving him, and I am not against, but I would like to know where his replacement is.

Why would another team value him much if his shooting is unsustainable and he only produces next to a top 5 offensive player on the planet?

I think he might have more value to Boston where we know he can be a good complimentary wing to Pastrnak. But it always depends on what's being offered.
Great post. It seems that having chemistry with a top player is no longer valued much here. Regardless if you see Geekie as a 3rd liner or better than that, if he can keep it up alongside Pasta then he has a lot of value to us. Similar to me to Kunitz/dupuis always playing with Sid.

I wish they would start thinking about making a run for McKenna next season & not trying to compete for wildcards, which is exactly what it will be without some bigtime moves.
I don't think they have enough/or any scouts that cover the Dub. Every since Malkoc been promoted to associate director of amateur scouting, the Dub seem to be getting over look. Hopefully I'm wrong because the Mckenna draft and 2027 there are alot of top prospect playing in the Dub from Dupont, Jacobson, Bhathal and Aden Bouchard etc

To me, not covering the WHL would be complete negligence. The NHL has had alot of great players come that way along with the OHL and QMJHL.

How?

Are you trading Pasta, and McAvoy?

Because you aren't finishing near last if those 2 are healthy.

to be fair, it's not far off from Coyle's contract % of cap wise, especially after this offseason.
Really don' know if that's an attack or a defense of him.

I like Lindholm, it's pretty obvious somethings wrong/injured with his hands but he's had a good compete and been much more physical than I expected. Opponents seem to really dislike him which IMO is a good sign.

Hopefully he takes the time and gets the treatment he needs to get his hands right and comes back to a full training camp before next season starts.
