Lol. Your Boy isn't going anywhere.

But....... Poitras still could. He could be a valuable piece for someone in a deal for the Bruins to get an upgrade, after all there isn't much else in the system thats very appealing.
I know but many of the fine folks here think otherwise

I’m 99% confident Zacha & Lindholm will be the top 2 centers (I’m good with it but I’m going to still make a call about Eichel if the GM and see is there any chance he’s going to FA)

Poitras is my 3C but I want Coyle next to him

I realize pretty much everyone hates this post, however, this is how I would proceed at C

Bruins roster next season

Geekie-Zacha-Pasta
Marchand-Lindholm-Coyle
xxxxx-Poitras-xxxxx
Beecher-Kastelic-xxxxx

Zadorov-McAvoy
Lindholm-Carlo
Lohrei-Peeke

Swayman-Korpisalo
I drop Coyle to 3RW

Korpi not sure back

Lindholm- McAvoy
Lohrei- Carlo
Zadarov - Peeke

Swayman

Keep dropping is best hope as a Bruins fan .I know it sucks for us but the best pick possible matters now .Misa would be a homerun.Still can't believe they left him out of WJC..Everyone there should be replaced if that's the mindset
Yep, drafting a number one center this year is our most realistic option for filling that hole. Bruins fans should be rooting hard to lose every game because there are legit high end talents within reach in the top 10 of the draft.

Yup.

To me the gameplan needs to be:

1.- Move players out that aren't a fit or are on expiring contracts for picks and prospects.
2.- Ask Marchand what he wants. He's earned that right.
3.- Lose and draft high. Take the best player available versus fit/position.
4.- Sign either Rantanan or Marner IF they make it to FA.

That's the simplified version. The hard part is figuring out what our identity should be and moving out pieces that may not fit. I think it's easier if the GM isn't Sweeney as trading/buying out new contracts like Lindholm/Zadarov if your Sweeny can send a bad message around the league. If it's a different GM then they're just not part of their vision and it's just business.

I mean ya they'd be competitive, but i want to see a change down the middle or another top line forward. I still think Zacha better suited as a 2nd line center/wing, but yea like you've said many times he's a stalwart defensively and lindholm can and will work as a 2 but is also better suited as a 3rd.

Pasta does have great chemistry with Geek and Zacha, but dam Pasta Great.!!! To the point I think he's under-rated here. I mean Mario Lemieux had Great chemistry with Warren Young. Point being Pasta has double the points of his 2 line-mates, and although I like both those guys, I wouldn't like them nearly as much without Pasta.

Imo Bruins need to add another 1st line talent, easier said than done, but imo with that add their right there with anyone.

Sure but realize if you draft a #1 center this year, that player is likely ready to be your #1 center in the 27/28 season. Maybe Misi is a bit closer,

I look at a guy like Hagens, and he may be able to jump in right away next year, but he is not really NHL ready. He is a better but still somewhat similar to Poitras, and i think he will get beat up until he matures physically

So go with the same team next year? Seems like an idea Sweeney will endorse.

Zacha is getting better and better - he and Pastrnak have a 6th sense & Zacha selflessly plays high to sacrifice his points

He’s entering the David Krejci territory

Just me but this works - when shit works I leave it as is.

If they get Eichel as a FA in 26 he and pasta id still play on different lines as they both are drivers

26 Coyle is up see where Poitras is - I’m a Lindholm guy. Fantasy hockey I stay away but reality he’s good right now - not 7.75 but good enough for me to play significant minutes now

I want to see him with a year under belt

Sure as long as you have depth, which is help for Pasta. right now the guy Playing QB and he's his own number one target.

Thats what I’ve been preaching. I really can’t see why, in private, Marchand wouldn’t also see this route. His chance at having a more meaningful end to his tenure in Boston is almost entirely hinged on him taking a lap in Edmonton, LA, Colorado etc. for the rest of this season.

If it were me and I wanted to help the team I say I want to be a part of for another couple years, I’d do it in a heartbeat. If Sweeney said hey we can get Byfield or Savoie in a package , or even some top 6 winger if you go, it just makes too much sense.
I think everyone believes and knows that would be the absolute best case scenario. Go play for the Avs for 3 months, get us some futures and come back July 1st.

But it needs saying that an under the table agreement like that is technically against the rules, which is why we don't see it often. How shady are the Bruins willing to be? How comfortable is Jacobs with a play like that?

Am I allowed to make an addition to this list? If so, read on....

Dump every contract you can and fill the contract spots with the higher end NCAA free agents in the next couple of weeks.

Even if you have to burn a year of their ELC to get them to sign. Start with Gleb Veremyev and if you have to sign Ty Gallagher to help lure him, you do it.

Insurance is paying Lindholm's contract so it's not costing Jacob's any more money.

I think that's true if you draft Jake O'Brien, he's really young (two more years of junior after this one) and he's 6'2 but he's not physically developed at all. I think the other guys are further along. Frondell plays against men now. McQueen would be the biggest forward on our team. Desnoyers has a high-end two-way game. I would not be shocked to see any of those guys in the NHL at the end of the 26 season.

I do think you're right that there will be a gap between on the team and playing like a #1 center. Could be right away, could take years to grow into.

Re Jake O'Brien

It has a handful of times most noted one is Kieth Tkachuk leaving the blues for Atlanta and then returning in free agency.

The Thrashers gave up winger Glen Metropolit and their first-round pick in last week's draft to acquire Tkachuk in a Feb. 25 trade.

The Thrashers sent the rights to free-agent center Keith Tkachuk back to St. Louis on Tuesday, reacquiring the conditional first-round pick they traded to the Blues in a deadline deal that helped Atlanta reach the playoffs for the first time.

To land the highly coveted Tkachuk, the Thrashers also gave up a third-round choice in last week's draft and a second-round pick next year.
