they will though. Marchand will get 6 min. Geekie 3.5 Lohrei will get a raise. Maybe they spend on a winger? the GM has put zero effort into the team this year and has said it's on the players they should be better. He thinks Coyle and Zacha are last season's version
Not a fan of building from the wings, but if you can’t acquire a 1C, not sure what else you do.

Save your cap space for when you can Target and acquire said top line center?

Or do you spend to the cap to send a message to the fan base that you’re attempting to compete?

Feels like they’re at an impasse from a roster construction standpoint barring a star center on another club wanting to play in Boston and forcing a trade.

Ethan Frank baby !!!!

Been to live viewings in ncaa tourney & when Hersey comes to Providence with @Saxon Eric - as well as drafting and having on my SIM team (so I follow him closely)

Get him Donny and stick him on the third line - he’s legit

They just aren't getting that kind of center unless they move someone nobody wants to move.

Freddy and coyle for their 2 back, Lapierre and Frank

Every team has injuries, look no further than the Blue Jackets this year, shitty excuse imo. Silver linings though I really like, and along with possibly having a top 10 pick, there's also the possibility of recouping more picks and prospects by being sellers and opening up more cap space for the off season.

Add on to that the Growth of Mason Lohrei do to those injuries to Lindholm and McAvoy. Lohrei is receiving invaluable ice time, he led all Bruins defenseman last night in ice time. He will have his ups and downs for sure but the ups are starting to out weigh the downs by a large margain. The kids a gem and he's showing it. The pp been clipping at over 22 percent with him at the helm. He's showing he can be an impact player at this level and gives the Bruins another force behind the blue line moving forward.
Exactly

Hopefully Poitras ok - that first period against Leafs his decisions and playmaking were reminiscent of Savard

I like him a lot - unfortunately he’s a few years away from being a consistent force

Someone will be very happy when he hits around 23-24

I’m for thinking outside the box.

You get your quarterback first before you worry about your #1 wide receiver.

If you have Jamarr Chase, but no quarterback, you’re dead in the water anyway.

I’m all over this idea

At least their 2 back & Frank for Freddie

Good call Lou

Someone ? You dont think it'll be as a Bruin ?

Consistency is a concern with him. hopefully he finds it and makes the adjustments in his game to get there.

Little Pro wouldn't be bad either
Yeh 0.0 that’s happening

They are in love with him - I passed on him in our draft (upset about it ) and been following since preseason game here against Bruins

He’s going to play with brother and be a beast

If Sweeney is getting fired sooner rather than later as I been reading here, the new GM will want to win immediately and he wouldn’t have drafted Poitras

So when he hits I think it’s with someone else

At this deadline and before July 1st, I'm moving:

Beecher
Coyle
Carlo
Geekie
Frederic
Brazeau

And giving Coyle's cap space and money to Marchand for 3 years to retire a Bruin. Tell him he's 3rd line and passing the C on after year one. He'll be Lindholm's LW and have a rookie on the RW as the two of them bring up a RW with a future 2nd line RW role.

He will be with Lindholm bringing up a RW just how Recchi and Bergeron brought him up in his 2011 rookie year.
I would keep Geekie, he has an above average shot and next to Pasty and Brad is the only goal scorer we have.

I just toyed with draft lottery simulator and the Bruins jumped from 11th overall to 2nd in my fourth attempt. They currently sit at 11th overall and project to take center Carter Bear

Lol. Your Boy isn't going anywhere.

But....... Poitras still could. He could be a valuable piece for someone in a deal for the Bruins to get an upgrade, after all there isn't much else in the system thats very appealing.

That's probably about fair value. But it looks like Toronto dealt their 2025 2nd round (and 1st round) pick. So I don't know what exactly they are giving Boston in these goofy Boston-Toronto rumors on the Interwebz. They seem like highly unlikely trade partners for numerous reasons.

But if it did happen, I want Knies for whatever package would go to the Laffs, non-trivial outflux obviously.
They aren't parting with Knies in any Boston package.

Fact is our forward group is not injured nor has been all year. They are just not offensively skilled. We have three third lines.

DS hoped goaltending and defense would get them in the playoffs giving them a chance to win a bunch of one goal games. The big heavy plan was a total bust.

Couldn't find a softer team in the league. Big doesn't make you tough or hard to play against as we witnessed all season with all the collapses.

Team needs a complete overhaul with a new vision, and please fire the entire pro scouting staff.

DS signing a fourth liner after what 10 games is all I need to know about his decision making.

It scares the shit out of me that this guy will still be the one in charge of the rebuild. And don't be fooled on the terminology that will be used, this team need a complete rebuild from the top down.

They need to add a couple of very good defensemen. Had they had a couple of good defenseman last couple of games they win

They should have cut the cord with Whalstrom and had up a AHL guy ~bad news cost them Toronto game silver lining one less point puts them closer to DNQ and a good position in draft

McAvoy & Hampus play they come out with 4 points ~ slight retool all they need

Horrible

Pass
Nothing works if they don't get a legit top line Centre.Yea,if they had better D they probably win last 2 games but still not good enough to chase a Cup.Not sure how Sweeney fixes this but man o man does he have his work cut out .

Here’s the thing…

The cupboards are in such a barren state that you do whatever you can to acquire as many shots as possible at building for the future.

What does 30 goals from Morgan Geekie the next couple of years on a bridge deal matter?

I get that you have to fill out the roster with somebody, but if you can get a 2nd round pick, that’s worth considering.

Marchand is his own situation. There’s something different about trading the captain and also trading the last link to the Cup winning team.

Ultimately, I’m in favor of a more aggressive approach and I pull the trigger on dealing Marchand.

I’m cashing all the chips I can in.

And yes, I consider dealing the player that many would not consider trading. However, that’s probably something you do at the 2026 draft if you consider to slide as an organization.

I'm not sure they win. They just don't have enough top forwards, pretty mediocre crew and if Swayman isn't on their done.

Checks out. I heard he loves skiing and he could do that all summer!!
He grew up in Warroad, Minnesota right near border with Winnipeg, Mabitoa, so it would be closer to home than the Twin Cities.

This roster is bad. It should bottom out and finish bottom 8 by the end of the season. If you can, trade:

Frederic
Geekie
Coyle
Carlo
Brazeau
Wotherspoon

...for anything you can get. Use all these assets to get: 1st line C. Nothing else matters.

Let's say you get a 1st (Carlo), two 2nds (Geekie and Frederic), a 3rd (Coyle) and two 4ths (Brazeau and Wotherspoon) for the above.

Take that and offer it for Pettersson, Barzal, etc and see what sticks. Then come back with a healthy 1st line C, healthy G, healthy top 4 D and a shiny new prospect in the system (this years' 1st).
Geekie is worth way more than a 2nd.

I think one of Geekie or Zacha is a totally fine compliment on a Pasta line. But there should be another 1st liner on it too.
I have never been shy about my support for Zacha, but last night him not scoring on that break away, just was not acceptable, now I know you are not going to score on all breakaways or scoring chances, but that lack of execution at that time, in my opinion killed any chance of winning that game. There are times throughout the season everyone needs contribute at a needed time, one man (Pasta) cannot do it alone. My suggestion now is all options should be on the table.

Geekie is worth way more than a 2nd.
A smart GM would make Geekie available and Brad as well,If he wanted to stay at what the Bruins are offering he would have done it already.

Again a smart GM would be starting a bidding war by announcing he's available if Brad dosent put his name on a contract this weekend.

These players love to remind us its a business so Im sure Brad would understand.
