the message you quoted was where playmakers said this:

What if you deal Marchand against his wishes, and it really resonates negatively with players around the league and Boston loses it's allure as a destination for players.

maybe it's not "mistreatment" per se, but would be a dumb move to trade your captain and lifetime bruin against his wishes. obviously they can do whatever they choose within the parameters of his contract,
but i do believe other players would think about that when boston came calling in free agency.

as for your question, the bruins have to sign him in the next 10 days. if they cannot find common ground whatsoever, then we can talk trade. and i'd still work with him on finding a good spot - assuming the returns are similar.
Tampa let Stamkos walk and he came off a 40 goal season, does that mean no one will go to Tampa, because they were mean to Stamkos, In my opinion you are over thinking this, and it can be hazardous to your health.

There might be a good chance no one gives anything for Brazeau.

He's got one goal and three points in 2025 and it's waaay unclear what he could bring to playoff hockey other than a lumbering stride.

Yeah at best someone takes him to be their 14th man and provide some extra depth in case of an injury. Honestly he should be waived if they can't trade him

Haha love it - I think you should have been a writer for Rolling Stone (I gotta see if I have my 1977 Aerosmith cover copy still)
If you guys do stop by and I am not there, I'm off using the facilities at HUB Hall or having a smoke outside.

I'll be back in a jiff,

How many players (if any) do you think the Bruins move by the TDL? There are lots of candidates mentioned here and in other media: Frederic, Coyle, Carlo, Geekie, Brad, Brazeau, Wotherspoon, Korpi et al. I am guessing no more than one or two and the rest, should there be more, come during the summer.
The only one that I want them to ONLY trade if they're blown away is Geekie.
They should tell Brad that he is loved and valued here but for the good of the team and its retool/rebuild (whatever) is them trading him to the best/highest bidder and then promise him to resign him after
his temporary exile. He's a big boy and can handle leaving for a few months. It's inconvenient but it will secure his tenure here for at least 2 years. After that, give him a cushy job.
I have nothing against the rest of your list and depending on the return I'm moving them too.
Wotherspoon in particular has been a good soldier as have the rest and it'll hurt but it's what's gotta happen to keep from crashing.

The worse negotiating stance is let it out that you will resign him at seasons end, that hurts his value, if some team want to obtain now and keep his services.

Yeh I think the Zacha line can be a one but I believe Geekie is legit 30+ goal guy

Lindholm has been on a 50+ point pace since Monty left

Where they getting a 1C they don’t exist or are available

Pastrnak was crap till that line materialized

i don’t see where we get guys
Fwiw, I think Geekie is a 30 goal guy next year too, and he's scored at that pace for some time now, but they still don't look like a legit 1st line to me. I've always thought a good first line gets you 120 goals (1.5 per game), OR gives you 100 goals and can matchup and outplay other team's first lines. The Zacha line might get 100 goals next year but they're not a matchup line. To me they're a good 2nd line, or 2/3 of a 1st line.

I think Lindholm is on a 45 point pace since Monty left, 21 points in 38 games. That's not top6. Maybe you're thinking of Zacha? He only had 3 points in the first 14 games, but since then he's scored at a 56 point pace.

I agree getting a 1C is going to be hard. I'm hoping we fall into the top8 and pick Desnoyers. That seems like the most realistic path. Maybe Sam Bennett as a free agent? He's doesn't produce like a first liner (25/55 guy in FLA) but he is clutch in big moments and he's also strong enough defensively that he could be a matchup guy. Other than those two options, we're livin' on a prayer as the boomers say.

I want no part of Sam Bennett. He’s not a number one center and someone is going to overpay and I sure hope it’s not Sweeney.

He is clutch and wouldn’t mine him but not at the price it’ll cost.

Stars have alliance with Minn. have the $ for Coyle, and they know exactly what they’re getting with him. Would be surprised if he wasn’t ok with going back to MINN

- I want Boeser and Macelli for a revamped the 2nd line

- Drop Marchand to the third line as your Poitras mentor

- Keep Brazeau for the 3rd line RW'er

- Swing a trade of Olivier

Geekie -- Zacha -- Pasta

Maccelli -- Lindholm -- Boeser

Marchand -- Poitras -- Brazeau

Kopeke -- Kastelic -- Olivier

A bit more balanced lineup with more skill and a little bit quicker.
Columbus loves Olivier. They aren't trading him unless it's something stupid that you should never do for a 4th liner.

Behold, the second to last time the Bruins social media manager ever posts a picture of Trent Frederic.

*proceeds to score hat trick as the Bruins route the leafs, giving Sweeney false hope and buying Brock Nelson*

So I’m GM

1. Marchand - need an extension should be easy enough ~ Bergeron took 5 M no ego wanted to win. Where is he here

2. I would like to deal Korpi and bring up a Providence G

3. Coyle - I’m keeping and having him play RW and available to play C

If I get overwhelmed obviously would but I need a lot - can’t see him wanting to go and don’t blame.

4. Carlo same as Coyle ~ have to get a bounty

5. Frederic trade

6. Braz trade

7. Beecher - I’m listening and I might be at where Farinacci gets chance - looks legit

8. Multi year deal for Geekie
I suspect Marchand would take a minor discount to stay here. But the major difference is that Bergy and Chara took discounts because they had each other and they had a team that could actually compete for a Cup. Marchand doesn’t. So if he stays it’s loyalty and leadership, etc. That feels like a tougher sell.

Marchy's assessment: “I still believe we have a group that can do some damage. We get in the playoffs and we get through there, I like the way we’re built. We haven’t played our best yet. When we do, we can play with any team. We’ve already shown that. There really hasn’t been many teams I’ve looked at this year and been like, ‘Wow, they’re so much better than us.’ Any team that is a contending team, we’ve beat or we’ve been right there with."

Do folks here beg to differ? When you watch the games do you think, "Wow, the other team is so much better than us"?
Brad needs to lay off the purple drink. I know he has to say this kind of stuff, there can't be any way he actually thinks they're close, if he does there's a problem.

Columbus doesn't love any individual player and doesn't care about winning on an organizational level. Olivier sucks is the reason you shouldn't want him
