Carlo can still be a very good shutdown defenseman he has a very active stick but the times it happens is few and far berween. He panics a lot under pressure and just fires the puck blindly around the boards. He also has mental lapses at times in coverage, but he’s a RH d-man and their always valuable and maybe a change of scenery will clean out some of his cobwebs.

Frederic is big body but don’t expect a lot of thunderous hits. Brady Tkachuk he’s not. He has a decent shot he doesn’t use enough and will always stick up for his teammates. Very good 3rd liner who can play up.

IMHO a first or a couple seconds for TFred.

Carlo the wild card, because if he ever returns to top form, he’ll be a steal for someone. So I’d think the only way Sweeney moves him is for a 1st plus.
Thx for the reply! I was more interested in carlo cause our d needs help , didnt like hearing that he panics and gives way the puck.

Guessing it's just thing from him and I'm sure he can go back

He’s more than adequate to play behind Seider as a top 4 but any offense or physicality he supply’s would be a big time bonus. He’s certainly worth a chance giving his cap hit and years of experience

He should be on the block, but god only knows with this genius we have at the helm.

Not sure on a return for Carlo. Not sure at all. There was a short time he was untouchable, talks of being captain material, a cornerstone shut down guy in the making. He's fallen waaaay too far to accurately guess at a return.

But I'll try anyway lol

I would be fine with a 2nd and a 3rd for either of them. Guys like Frederic randomly fall into favor/demand and he might get a 1st from a desperate team thinking he's the answer at the power forward spot. He's not.
The for the reply man , ya I think frederic can get a 1st from a legit cup contender when you look at past moves. Wings need help at d so I was obviously looking at carlo more + he wouldnt just be a rental

Pellika should be up next year so I was thinking carlo can be 2nd pair for a few seasons to ease him in and if he just excels off the gate I'm ok with carlo on the 3rd pair as well

Not too sure sweeney would deal him to a division rival

Hes been the target of many this season. Not saying its unearned but yeah.

Ive listened to beat reporters say he would be best moved in a 'hockey trade' and I would agree considering if you remove him from this roster, they need a roster player coming back. Especially when you look at the lack of depth at RHD both on the team and in the farm.

Beat reporters are saying carlo would be better off if he was moved ?? Umm dam well unless you moved assets required in a separate deal I dont think we'd fit

We're not moving pellika and johansson is being used on the right side now and hes been a big surprise. Outside them we have tuomisto in grand Rapids and cant think of anyone else

I'd hate to see carlo on the habs but I think they have alot of right handed dmen in the system

He's been mentioned on ESPN among other sites as a player drawing a lot of interest.

He's always had a puckmoving partner (Lindholm, Grzelcyk, Krug) and has struggled this year without one.

I would like to think Carlo is worth a 1st and Frederic a 2nd. I think the Bruins would prefer young NHL ready prospects or players of similar value.

Ahh ok didnt know that might be a reason hes struggled, guess if we paired him with Simon edvinsson it shouldn't be a problem

I'd be with moving a 1st in a deal so long as its top 10 protected which seems to be in every deal now

I would assume hes a physical dman which is why I was interested. He doesnt?

Carlo has been a solid defender at times - not deserving of a lot of the criticism he gets here. He's been sub-par lately, but I don't think he's suddenly fallen off a cliff. That said, if they can move him for parts or assets they need, then they should do so.

But having a wholesale house-cleaning might be unwise until they bring in a new coach and maybe even a whole new coaching staff (except for Goalie Bob). Bringing in the right HC might be just the thing some of these underperforming players need to get back on track.

Maybe Coyle, Brazeau and Frederic can be used to replenish the cupboard - I think we've seen their best already. But I think players like Geekie, E. Lindholm and Zacha might still be effective pieces under a new regime and philosophy. And maybe young players Poitras, Lysell and Merk blossom under a new coach as well. We've seen that happen before.

Is it wise to empty out the fridge before we hire the new chef?

Carlo has a bit of a concussion history, too. It's brutal to say, but it's another reason I'd consider moving him. He's probably a knock or two to the head of being a future issue.
Oh I didnt know that's an issue. Depending how much a problem it is then ya I wouldnt give up a 1st if hes a hit away from him having issues

Do you sell high on Geekie?

If you’re looking to extend him, at what cost?

And to what end?
I’d keep Geekie. I like his versatility up and down the lineup and he’s still showing improvement year over year. As far as salary, I’d go as high as $4mil on a bridge deal.

He’s a quality depth guy I think you can build around. Should have won the 7th Player last year. I hope he gets it this year.

If Sweeney could move Lindholm, that would be his shining star of GM career, because see no way in hell that player or contract gets moved, unless Sweeney eats a lot that contract.
Might have to eat $2M a year to Vancouver, he has history there, they tried to resign him likely for $5-6 per ...the real question is would EL want to waive to go back ...I doubt it

if they deal Carlo, they're definitely picking in the top 12. That's for sure. Not that I mind that.

Peeke is like your true #1 on that D, lol.

If were selling I'd trade all 4 Frederic marchy carlo and geekie for a 1st round pick each. Imagine having 5 first round picks in total in this years draft.
O' were selling.
interesting fact its been nearly 20 years that the bruins were sellers at the deadline, the year before Neely took over as President 2007 and it wasn't earth shattering,.

Won't happen.

Frederic won't get you a 1st
Geekie won't get you a 1st
Carlo may be borderline
Marchand would fetch a 1st

Also, weren't you buying yesterday? Dude. Reel it in a bit, lol.

Sounded like they don’t plan to sign any of the free agents before the deadline besides Brad. Which means that they will look trade all of them.

Also sounds like they are interested in moving some of the signed roster players.

So pretty much best case scenario.

I have to tell you even if losing, finally watching the kids and some younger players acquired in trade has to be more exciting than what we have seen this year.

I know folks are eager to see what the Bruins do by the trade deadline. I’m eager also.

But I’m seeing the same stuff regurgitated over and over here.

I’m in wait and see mode. Nothing else will make a difference.

Just me but Im dealing Brad now and getting the best possible return for him that will help this organization moving forward and I want to save every penny possible to sign Mitch Marner this off-season, and then see whats left for Marchand.

Zadorov played 25:15 against the Ducks, and the game before that he played 25:55.

I don't think Peeke is their #1D at the moment, or Carlo for that matter.
