That means nothing in term of keeping a strong team on the ice. Sure, nice thing for the history books and all but he needs to be moved at the deadline if he's not signed period.

Im sure he would love to play a few more weeks/mouths if the Bruins are eliminated by then. No?

Oh I’m 100% down with trading him, but it’s just not what the bruins do. They didn’t move chara when we missed the playoffs. I don’t think we will move Marchand either

Time will tell you may be 100% correct, I hope not

I am surprised that they put him at 90 in compete/consistency. WTF are they watching?
I am a big Fred fan and would have loved to see him play with better players consistently. I do know feel he will be traded

So is Ray Bourque and he was better then Brad but never had a Cup.Kind of different situation. .Anyhow, whatever they do they do .

Trading Ray was end of career Mercy.

Marchy has his cup, and I think we do owe it to him to let him decide what's next.

I assume he loved playing best on best. That may have given him an appetite to go have a run somewhere here. I suspect they'll keep it quiet if so.

Two totally different scenarios Marchand is on an expiring contract and he can walk at the end of the year, Chara could not.

It makes zero difference in the bruins book because they wouldn’t never make the choice to move either unless it was requested by the player. It’s just how the bruins operate

Namestnikov extended at 3mil...Frederic and Geekie should not get more than that...
Geekie maybe should get a smidgen more, but basically I agree. Namestinkov is a speedy and useful bottom sixer with occasional finish. They had a similar but maybe slightly lesser player in J Boquvist, but let him go in Neely's continuing effort to eliminate speed in favor of glacially slow stiffs.
