You'd think with scores like that, a player would project to more than a third line forward.

Kinda baffling they haven't given him a shot in the top 6 considering all the bodies they've moved through there. But then again they projected him as bottom six since the draft and said so at the time. Maybe some other clubs see he can offer more.

Maybe when they decide they're out of it they'll play him with Pastrnak for a week to bump up his trade value.

Considering that our top six after Pasta is very much like a bottom six, they should definitely sell hard.
But, if you think Poitras and Lohrei are top 6 and top 4 players in the short term - you wouldn't sell THEM, at least, unless the return was for a player who contributes NOW. That's the difference between selling...and selling hard, in my opinion.

Caps own their own 1st which could be anywhere from 28-32 plus they own the B's 2nd round pick which right now would be 47.

That's probably as close as I can get to the suggested return from that article.
Yeah, I guess I got stuck on the couple of second round picks and was thinking more in back to back drafts.

Thanks.

Two second round picks in the same draft has more appeal than in consecutive years (faster return), but if the draft this year is shallow after the top end of the first round, as some say, the appeal isn’t there for me at all.

You can sell even if they are good prospects. I would sell Lohrei. He is just too lacking physically and defensively. He isn't exactly superman offensively as he lacks a quality slapper.

I am on the fence about Poitras.

Marchand would bring back way more than that., two 2nds in a weak draft. McKenzie I believe it was said this years second round is comparable to other years 3rd round.

too late? Guy is 28 yrs old

risk every signing
He will be 29 at the start of next season and a lot of miles on that body, and I am sure he will be looking for a seven-year deal and we have spent enough money on third line centers who will be 36 when contract expires, lets not repeat the same mistake.

Not to mention a 2nd/3rd line center who may score 20 goals, 45 points, and miss 20 games.

Will be paid like a top 6 center similar to Lindholm I imagine. Stay well away Bruins.

I like Sullivan, a lot. He's experienced, knowledgable, innovative, respected...
A week a go I would be on board, buy now before any moves are made with anyone associated with team USA, they should be put on hold until we know what the hell went on with McAvoys injury, too much shit swirling around that situation. I know one guy who should be banned from entering Boston again that should be Bill Gurien, to much questions around that guy.

You think Sullivan would risk longterm injury to his son in law? Dr's miss things sometimes, its a known fact .Anyhow it is what it is.Would bother me more if Bruins were a Cup threat .Charlie will heal in due time.

Marchand would return a first and a decent prospect if traded. With that said I highly doubt they trade him. The organization wants him to retire a career long bruin
That means nothing in term of keeping a strong team on the ice. Sure, nice thing for the history books and all but he needs to be moved at the deadline if he's not signed period.

Im sure he would love to play a few more weeks/mouths if the Bruins are eliminated by then. No?

I think it is a blessing in disguise for the other shoulder and other nagging injuries to heal.

This whole “they want Marchand to retire a Bruin” is the worst thing you can do for the organization. 63 is one of my favorite athletes of all time. You absolutely cannot not take advantage of his value in a trade. Yes it will suck to see him go but not improving the future of your team is worse.
