Love to see the Bruins let one of us do trade deadline

I’d deal Frederic to Rangers for Othmann, a 2025 first and 2026 second

Donny not smart enough to do this
Naah, Frederic to Rangers for Othmann, a 2025 first and 2026 first, a 2027 first and second and a (they can keep their 2028 1st rounder, no good) 2029 first and Drury's 1st born too.
Freddy is a supah stah!

For sure! They could add two or three Stempniak/Stafford types with the money and be set for a deep playoff run.
OR be the team that takes on cap space for assets for other teams that are loading up (not sure if this is what you meant?)

I mentioned like a week ago looking at a team like Washington whom Sweeney has history in dealing with and taking a guy like Mangiapane, who last I checked was on their fourth line and not really working out, off their hands to free up cap space for them to load up.
I would love Mangy on the team, know him and the family very well.
He played well with EL in Calgary.

So trading somebody like Koepke/Brazeau/Wothesrpoon + a 4th for a somewhat better (but not all that much) player who makes 7 or 8x as much?

I'm not sure what that does to be honest, and trying to look around at teams, it looks like a bunch of the teams at the cap have the LTIR benefit- EDM, WAS, COL.

A contending team isn't going to give up a particularly helpful piece if they are trying to win. I think it's more likely the B's could do some retention favors for teams and pick up a couple of draft picks.

(Not sure if they CAN use space created by LTIR space to retain... I'm thinking not, so it would have to be some creative thing).
No not at all.

I’m talking about trading a Koepke/Brazeau/Wotherspoon + a 4th for a significantly better player who makes 7 or 8x as much. Like the Trouba deal, as I said.

Kidding aside, I’m just trying to make the point that cap space has value, even more so at the deadline. We’ve seen teams pay a premium for cap considerations and we’ve seen teams sell players at a discount if there was a cap imbalance. I’m suggesting they use that to their advantage.

If Mac goes on LTIR which I’m sure he will, the Bruins are going to have some cap flexibility to take on expiring contracts at the deadline for some picks/prospects.
If Mac does go on LTIR and they decide to move Marchand, they could also now eat a big portion of his contract, which could really help in bringing in a teams top prospect. A lot of different ways they could use the LTIR to their advantage.

What makes you think you are smart enough to pull it off...........oh well you would be dealing with Chris Dury, you might have a chance........good luck

This years draft outside of the top 8 or so is supposed to be one of the weakest drafts in years, so hopefully the Bruins acquire top rated NHL prospects and/or 2026/27 draft eligible players
I think that is the way to go also, if all the so called experts are right that this years draft does not measure up to the 26 draft.

Awful math by me, don't tell my boss
Don't worry he already knows.
