Marino is a great comp for Carlo. I think Marino is a notch better,

I see Carlo as more valuable than Marino on his 3rd team in 4 years. Despite being almost the same age, Carlo is vastly more experienced, especially in the playoffs.

I will say he is not a true 1st line centre but a very good 2nd and is tough as they come.

Let me see what I can do. Not unreasonable, but I do believe they need more than just one forward, and he does not need to score 40-50 just add some scoring depth.

I think Both the US and Canada have about 5 guys on their rosters that could be swaped out with others that didnt make it and neither team would miss a beat, maybe even more.

Speaking of Winnipeg I would also have interest in Ehlers.

there's really no world where Carlo isn't bringing back a first + a prospect IMO. You're talking about a top 4 shutdown RD that has handled some of the hardest deployment in the league over the past couple years who is also signed under 5mil for another 2 years and still isn't 30 yet.

I’m not sure it’s a first and a top prospect but I do think it’s a 1st or top prospect plus.

Since Pionk is a free agent this summer, moving Carlo would free up a spot on the roster and some cap room if they decided to go this route.

Personally I think Pionk is one of the most underrated defenders in the league.

I’m not typically skeptical of trade rumors, because I think with. 32 teams and over 600 regular players in the league, I think lots of guys names come up in conversation.

What I am skeptical about is leaks like this, where a “selling” GM tips his hand as to what he’ll take for a guy, especially if it’s a reasonable expectation.

Why put it in other GM’s heads that you think Carlo is worth a 2 and top prospect?

Why not say a 1 and a “prospect”?

Shooting high and working down is a much better plan.

Regardless of approach, I really hope DS hit a home run in a trade or two this spring.

This team needs it.

They certainly need something!
