Fantasy for you nightmare for the Bruins and the fans.

So then tell us, what would a fair trade package to go from where we sit at at 13th OA, to 4th OA look like?

Rule of thumb is that if it seems like too much, then it’s probably just right. Because I fail to see how Coyle, Lysell, and a 2nd is actually a nightmare to go and grab Misa and have him slot in next season, instead of a likely whiff at 13th OA. Even if Misa is gone there, McQueen isn’t. If anything Seattle would want more.

The 5 forwards taken after Dean are all around a point a game (Greentree is much more at 1.7). They all are playing either in the OHL or the Q. Dean has 2 assists in 29 games for an NCAA team.
I know, it's too early. Just thought it was interesting.

There is a reason why DS was chosen to put together the Canada entry in the Four Nations and it's not based on fan board input

In a recent poll I read - of NHL execs not fans - DS was ranked #5 out of 32GMs

Is he perfect -no
Has has he made some poor signings/drafts - absolutely
Am I disappointed in how this year has gone- you bet
Do his peers respect him- definitely

Boston sports in general, and this Board in particular has a habit of eating its own. Charlie might force him out - but the driver will be gate revenue not overall GM knowledge

I don’t disagree with this.

But to me it comes down to this: What is your plan from here? How do you get back to competitive? And if Sweeney doesn’t have the answer, then he has to go. Just like when Julien was fired. And just like Cassidy. And hell, just like Montgomery. You’ve been good (more or less), but what do we do from here? That’s your answer? Bye bye.

And I think we’ll know our answer by the deadline this year. If Sweeney doesn’t sell off their UFAs and/or doesn’t move players like Brandon Carlo - it’s time to move on. And the reason I say this is this.

If they keep UFAs it means one of two things:
1) That they’re losing these players for nothing in the off-season and for no reason.
Or
2) They plan on re-signing these players and running the roster back again next season

And NEITHER of those outcomes should be palatable for anyone.

You took some swings this year. It didn’t work out. That happens. The only thing that angers me is that they’ve made zero effort to turn it around during the year and the season slipped away without resistance. But I can deal with a bad year. That’s okay.

What is your plan to fix it?

It says to me Jr hockey is far below BC college hockey. Id rather Dean developing at the highest level possible rather padding useless stats in Jr.

Worry next season if we see no growth. My son knows the game as well as anyone and watched him exclusively at the BP. and came away with a high opinion of his potential.

He's a very unique player

He's a very unique player

That Beanpot final was my first time watching Letourneau in a broadcasted game. I was on the lookout for #20 every time he stepped onto the ice.

For a 6'7 player, I felt his skating was by far his biggest asset. Very agile and able to get up to speed quickly with the ability to make tight turns. Doesn't look un-coordinated or raw at all in his movements. In that regard he reminded me of Blake Wheeler.

My question is will he ever be a big point producer? His future might end up as big strong two-way 3rd line center rather than some dynamic offensive player.

He's a very unique player

It's tough to say which is the Higher level due to the fact of age difference. In college the 18 year old's are playing against 22-23 years which as a development point is a huge difference that playing against 20 years as in the CHL. Plus in the CHL they play a more NHL schedule with 72 games instead the college 34 games. Even the USHL plays 62 games.

Letourneau would have been a great pick if you have a deep prospect pool and don't have to worry about a little gamble. In the state the Bruins pool is it wasn't the right pick but there is still time and next season will say more about the kind of prospect he is. Right now the with the season he is having the hand is a little bit on the bust side

Empirically, he is.

Credit where due. Don Sweeney is respected league wide for a reason.

I prefer to move on.

In the wake of apparently accepting a still ill defined "advisory" and "consulting" position with the Bruins, Zdeno Chara remains far and away my candidate for General Manager.

If this happens, it certainly won't happen overnight, and that's fine with me.

He's a quick study, but everyone has to learn the ropes over time.

His poor drafting alone should have gotten him fired a few years ago. His respect from other managers amounts to keeping an easy mark at the poker table.

Coyle played in the EJHL which dis-integrated for lack of a better term after 2012-13. Wikipedia says it was considered Tier III junior.

Coyle-ish is probably a good term for Letourneau.
