I wouldn’t mind one of them taking over for Neely, but I’d rather go outside of the organization for the GM. Too many former players in the front office/coaching staff.
This organization desperately needs to stop running the front office like a fraternity and more like a business.

Please, for the love of Orr, can we now accept we need a little more top end talent? Not middle 6ers who would be on a 4th line on a real contender? Pasta is scoring a point per game on his bad nights, yet still carrying us. Help the man, please , before he turns into a cripple by 31.
This product is boring. Much rather watch the rookies get inserted and make mistakes than our coveted “big, 2-way roster” act small in all zones. Identity needs tooling. 3+ names need to go before July 1 to improve.

How are you going to get them. Cubbard is bare. Someone going to give you a first line center for free. Maybe you can give them your whole third line for one. We know that. Problem is the team needs a reset or retool or rebuild. They have a first. If you trade that, it still isn’t enough to get a second liner with out adding two top prospects and a first. And then you get bounced I. The first round, which means you really have nothing for the next 5 years.
They screwed up when Krejci bounced to his homeland. They didn’t have a back up before that when they knew he was going. What you see is a product of going for it and shirt sightedness years before your top two centers weeent addressed in the draft or trade market.
I think the only way to get a top line center and picks is to ask brad and mcavoy to give you a list of were they want go.

I want a clean sweep with no Ex Bruins anywhere. I do wish Chara the best and think he will be an exception. So Chara in place of Neanderthal Neely is acceptable.

Fwiw, I'm not sure he has another level in the regular season. In the playoffs, when he doesn't have to worry about being too physical, yes he has another level and we saw it last year. But I think this is what he is in the regular season, and IMO he's a lot better than folks give him credit for.
The guy plays over 20 minutes a night against top lines with a forward line that doesn't score much, and he gets the most Dzone starts on a team that's -26, yet he's one of our only plus players.
Yes, he makes mistakes but at this point I don't think he makes any more than anyone else on this defense. Plus, he wasn't brought here to be a calm, mistake free, shut down D like Carlo. He was brought here to be a Johnny Boychuk / Al Iafrate type, to launch bombs, throw blow up hits, get in people's faces, and inject a massive dose of tough-to-play-against into the team, which he is doing.

We have plenty of assets that are moveable and of value. They should have an heir apparent started in 2016/2017 to be entering their prime now, but we can’t really focus on the past at this point, we are talking about now, and right now we need to actually make somewhat painful moves to do things well and on the fly. We just no they won’t because they are too worried about optics.
What they likely do: Trade Frederic, another forward, and add a 3rd liner with another year on contract.
What they should do:
Ideally, 3+ of the following move: Coyle, Frederic, Peeke, Brazzers, Koepke.
Situationally could move for true top talent, which likely alters the above: Marchand, Carlo, Zacha, Poitras, Lohrei. Play Lysell and Merk immediately to showcase them as well.
Poitras would need to be for a better young center… Byfield type, but I think the ship has sailed there…
Marchand trade now but design here this summer would be optimal.
Will Geekie will take 4 years @ $4.5-5.4mil? If not, trade, or sign and trade asap to help set market.
I’d like to see Korpisalo moved (Oilers or Hurricanes?) Dipietro gets backup next year to take next step, and maximize his value, and is cheaper.
One of Rantanen, Ehlers, Boeser hopefully available this summer. Giroux or Duchene could be a great 3rd liner vet at the right price. Gavrikov would be nice and open options up.
Luca del, Troy Terry, Leo Carlson, Cozens, Shane Wright, Matty Berniers, Mittelstadt, Bjorkstrand are worth inquiring about.

If the season ended today, the Bruins would be drafting 13th overall. If they chose to lean into a quick rebuild, and were sellers at the deadline, they could easily drop into the top10, and conceivably as "high" as the 6th overall spot.
There's a chance they can get an impact center at 9th overall and there are absolutely going to be impact centers available at 6th overall. Guys who may only be a year away.

They blew and completely closed their window because of the failures in the 1st round of the 2015, 2016 & 2017 Drafts. It is that simple. Sweeney picked the wrong guy in all 3 drafts with Senyshyn, Frederic and Vaak. The players taken immediately after in 2015 and 2017 would have fixed their future top 6 holes in Connor\Barzal and Robert Thomas. Then in 2016 with Frederic, Sweeney bypassed Kyrou\ADB.

His biggest blunder was assuming Bergeron and Krejci would play into their 50's. He literally had no interest in drafting impact centers for years.

I will be a very upset Bruin fan should the bruins come back with this same roster first game back after the break. Enough with the unskilled unproductive turtles weighing down this team. Call up kids or combine all turtles into a cheap package for a shifty speedster player with upside.
