Today's game will help determine the direction of this team.
I believe they should be in sell- mode. If Brad wants to go and compete for a Cup you move him. He can resign in the summer if he wants. Time for Coyle to move on. Make a decision on Frederick and Brazeau. I would move Korpisalo and bring up DiPietro. Target players like Lawson Crouse- Utah, Trevor Zegras- Ducks, or Dylan Cousins- Buffalo. They need some upgraded talent. I would bring up Lysell and Merkilov as well.
It's been pretty clear for a while the direction this team is heading :sarcasm: Serious lack of talent on this team & a crappy system below the big club.Sweeney does not have the smarts to fix this mess.

I always want them to make the playoffs.
The problem with being in the playoffs is that it means Sweeney will sell off another 1st rounder like he usually does.

I’d be fine squeaking in if it means we can still be sellers and keep our picks, but I see the logic in bottoming out for a bigger sell off and better picks.

Why definitely?
He has 3 seasons over 20 goals, he hits, he is young, and he has a contract, that is certainly livable. Now what is happening to him this year is a surprise to me, but with what I mentioned previous, definitely worth a look see.

Ok so your definitely buy quote meant definitely buy Crouse not definitely buy in general?

Look I, want to be in the playoffs, as Dennis Bonvie said, it is the best hockey, now making moves for younger talent like a Crouse and with a chance to make you better this year, I am all for it, I don't want to get older and next year you need to address that problem again. I will admit it is a tightrope to walk saving this season and looking ahead, but that's why Donnie gets the big bucks.

I don’t think Crouse is a difference maker or better yet the type of player who guarantee's you the playoffs this year. The Bruins need a bigger fish and imo he’s not worth the assets it would cost to get him and I’d rather hang onto those assets for a bigger fish or actually give them a shot at the NHL.

this was meant to be my pride and joy with bragging rights. lol. Enjoy! lol

Two more interesting points...

1) If you take away empty net scenarios, Zadorov would still be second on the team in plus/minus, and lead the defense. That's despite having more Dzone starts than any other player on the team, save Beecher.

2) Why isn't anyone else +12 in those situations? Carlo, Pasta, Marchand, Peeke, McAvoy, Lindholm... all these guys are out there for those critical minutes, yet the next closest guy on the team is Marchand at +5. When you get scored on in those situations it counts as a minus, like against Ottawa two weeks ago (twice). I know folks are using that stat to write off Zadorov but maybe that stat says something good about his game.

it's a fair point and i wasn't looking to drag the guy - just found it interesting. i do think there's another level to his
game and hope he finds it in the 2nd half.

Why would he leave Denver? Bad experience playing with a top 5 talent?
I’m with you

I would stay in Colorado ~ I’m from greater Boston area so I’d come home for summer and stay in Denver and play with McKinnon & Makar

he and Pastrnak are uber close enough where Pasta was face timing him when he heard about trade before Necas heard from GM it was official

He might be to fast anyways for Boston

Read something somewhere about a former player saying he is not worth his salary. Can't remember who said it
This season, sure. There are factors that could be part of why he's struggled this season. It's been a circus in VAN on and off the ice..
That said, he's an elite 1C and only 26.
I'd try to get them to retain 10-15 percent and trade them around 2-3m in salary back.. You then get him for 6-7m/yr.... a steal.
