Boston Bruins 24-25 Roster/Cap thread XV

The race for the worst plus/minus is really heating up now.

We have a three-way tie at -11 between Freddy, Lohrei & Coyle.

Coming on strong is The Captain at -9. And whipping boy E Lindholm at -7.

At the other end of the spectrum, Zadorov at +14 is lengthening his lead.

Koepke, despite putting up no points recently, is still at +9.

Then it drops down to a mere +4 for Zacha, followed by (Surprise!) Carlo at +2.

This seems to indicate being paired with Zadorov is a good thing.

Playing on a line with Freddy & Coyle, not so much.

It also seems to indicate that using plus/minus in a vacuum to evaluate players, probably isn't a good idea...

First things first , he may have to add for Crosby and I believe he hasn't made a decision on Pieterangelo replacement.

Coaches certainly use it. Players often talk about.

It definitely works to some degree when comparing players on the same team.

I want playoffs always but the way Donny is acting it seems he doesn't give a crap this year. Very frustrating . If I'm on his seat fire sacco and Kelly right now and replace them with a experienced interm coach . I hate to sell.

I want playoffs if the team we have is good enough.

It's going to be interesting to see whether we are buyers or sellers come March 7th. I have tickets for the 8th in Tampa. So, I am very curious as to what team I am going to see. They play in Carolina the 6th so a lot could happen that Friday.
I really don't see Sweeney doing anything until the week of the 7th, unless there is an offer too good to pass up. Which could happen to allow the player(s) to acclimate. This team needs offensive forward help and a defenseman that can get shots on net consistently under pressure. Any UFAs, unsigned, come the 7th need to go, no walking without assets coming back.

You always should hope to make the playoffs. It wasn't that long ago when Florida squeaked in and everybody laughed thinking they would be a cake walk....... We all remember what happened.

You never know once you get in. Anybody seriously scared of any of the teams in the East outside of the Panthers?? And i only say the Panthers because they are battle tested.

Try to make the playoffs. You can still re-tool and make the playoffs.

Shane Malloy is on under - review on NHL Radio saying that the 2025 draft is weak, quality and quantity wise. Basically throwing out the idea that teams at the deadline may be better off getting other teams prospects than 2025 picks.

This team with a healthy Lindholm, Swayman playing like last season, and a few moves at the deadline, are 100% a playoff team and I think can be dangerous.

Get us to the 4 nations break, get healthy, Sweeney needs to get off his ass and make this team better. There's nothing scary about a 7 game series vs Washington or the Leafs. Boston can compete with both, especially if we add some skill into the top 6.

I think your right, but they also could get a DNQ even if they add, unless its an elite of the elite player. That's why imo feel they need to re-tool now, than kicking the can down the road and losing more assets. all the teams who their competing with will be looking to add as well, basically countering each others move.

Team like Colorado ,I would want there 2026 or 27 1st included in Marchand deal.Better chance they will not be as good then.That is type vision we need .This is not getting fixed right away.

business decisions can be tough - Letterkenny season 12 almost didn't happen because Sheppy, who played Roald on the series, wanted more focus on his role as Stewart's sidekick

I know two things that I classify essentially as fact:

1 - dealing Marchy should be mostly a function of his desire or willingness to go, but would be a wise idea from a business perspective

2 - taking a roughing penalty against the other team's goalie when you're nursing a 1 goal lead against a team you're fighting for a playoff spot for is not a good look

and that's coming from a guy who once threw a linesman into the box and rammed his stick inside the door as a wedge to keep him locked in so he could re-enter a brawl
