    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

IDK ... if you think Lindholm has been poor this year, Pettersson's confidence is completely shot. He looked terrible at the four nations tournament, like he was a lost deer in the headlights. Rumors abound that he is damaged goods, and I don't mean physically.

Yes, he may be 26 yrs of age and be 6 foot 2 , but he only weighs in at 176 lbs (he needs another 20 - 30 lbs). Maybe a change of scenery would help , but I just can't see him going to the dirty areas and engaging physically. He does have talent and has put up points in the past , but I'm willing to bet that was done mostly from the perimeter avoiding contact.

Yup. Part of the other issue with Pettersson is us affording his cap hit. You *have* to move contracts like Lindholm and Korpi to get him here. I doubt Lindholm waives to return to Van. Mittelstadt is your highest cap without protections, and a center which they will want in return. You’d need to add a 1st, 2nd, and some more though for them to bite. I’m okay on not doing that. If you could fleece them with a Poitras package that doesn’t give up too many picks/your future, yea sure why not. Otherwise there are better options to trade for.

Dallas and Toronto will likely be against the cap, maybe we could use some of our late picks and prospects that were are probably never going to play anyway and get Mason Marchment and Nicholas Robertson, add that to signing Ehlers and our left wing is set.

I like what they did on the deadline. They got rid of some slow possession guys for faster puck hounds and skill. I think Sacco wanted to play a more up tempo game and I like the results. This team is fun to watch and is on top of teams fast.

Joker is a better passer/skater than Carlo, Middlestadt has way more skill than Coyle. Lauko and Husi never stop skating. Zada the Lada has emeged as a leader. They gained cap space, so lets see what they do with it.

Lindholm and Sway for Peterson and Garland...............moving those two would be a win, win.

I’d kick the tires on Bedard. He’s small, poor defensively, and entitled but he’s still going to be a 30 G point-a-game player if you put him with a guy like Mittlestadt

Give Chicago 7-8OA and Lohrei (hate to give up the hilite machine) but Bedard still highly thought of

Why would Chicago trade a 19yr old kid that's on pace to put up 60+ points in his first 2 NHL seasons......for a 8-9 pick and Mason Lohrei?

The knock on Jack Hughes early was that he was to small. Imagine if NJD traded away Jack Hughes because he only had 52pt in his first 117 games.

You are way to smart for this place

I know but that’s the best I could come up with realistic

Seattle completely healthy now have Shane Wright at 4C. You’d have to entice them to trade their young center but they’d be dealing from a position of strength. Their weakness is at left D imo. Would anyone trade a package that includes Hampus Lindholm? Lohrei up for a raise, Hampus has had injury issues. Would Boston do it? Would Seattle have any interest in Hampus, or would they push for Lohrei?

your stats and thoughts are all legit, but something about this kid tells me stay away.

Love Jack Hughes, but where is he today, IR.

Hampus is damaged goods until proven otherwise.

It would be nice to send down some of the AHL’s and try the rookies.
I would bring in the providence line of
Lysell Merkilov whalstrom
They have some chemistry right now and see what they can do for a third line in NHL

An interesting question:

Do you bring up prospects to gain valuable NHL experience on a team going nowhere but down this season, or do you protect their confidence and allow them to develop in Providence?

Bring them up, even if for just a game or two. There are a number of young D that can get get a short taste of the NHL, and at least four forwards that could come up and play a little. Maybe longer looks for the guys you need to know about up front. I don't know if I worry about confidence with them at this point: they'll know the score with the team and will know why they are there.

I think an excellent move could be McMichael this summer. The Caps have a bit of a logjam ahead of them with Leonard coming in, Strome and PLD, Protass signed long and cheap…

Buy “low” while you can. He would immediately be our second best winger, and historically plays center. A Poitras package might be the cost. I’d want a signed Chychrun in the return if they want Lohrei. He’s an RFA after next year, makes 2.1m, already has 51points this season. Caps are likely to swing big at wing in July.
