Not sure it's smart for us to risk a 2026 1st but Knies is a real nice piece for sure
I wonder if it would be an incentive for Matthews to come join his fellow Arizona\Leafs linemate?

Its kind of insane that 2\3 of the Leafs top line is from Metro Phoenix.

Bergeron played 19 years before Pastrnak signed - not the same thing as Marner making millions more 2 years after Pastrnak signed
That isn't what you said. It was pre injury Bergeron and he could still be playing at 39.

Not sure where he fits right now. Plus still need to see Lysell, Merk, and Mitts in Boston.

and...
Good call. Kid has been pounded in NHL and I’m sure his confidence is shot.

He’ll be bummed but beef up and get into playoff battle in Providence for the duration.

Not to derail but I don’t think it can be said enough how vital the upcoming playoff is for the PBruins. A deep run would do wonders for the Bs prospects down there.

Let Poitras go down there and lead the charge. Same with Minten.

They don’t start until like April 23 though. He can play the season up here then go down for the playoffs.

Thinking about an offer sheet for McTavish... What would it take for Anaheim to say, we'll take the picks and build around Leo Carlson? They're not going to be squeezed by other cap considerations because they have $40m in cap space.

Offer Sheets
$1.6m or less = Nada
$1.6-2.4 = 3rd round pick
$2.4-$4.8 = 2nd round pick
$4.8-7.2 = 1st and 3rd round pick
$7.2-9.6 = 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick
$9.6-12 = Two 1sts, 2nd and 3rd round pick
12+ = Four 1st round picks
AAV for offer sheets for offer sheets is calculated by dividing the total by 5 years (or less if the contract is less).
Yes!

NO to BOESER

I've played around with this as well. The cap hit is actually...
$3.4
$3.9
$3.9
$4.6
$4.6
$5.4
$1.6
$1.6
$1.6
$1.6
$1.6
$1.6

If I'm the GM, it's not off the table. They'd save $4.3 against the cap next year. The savings get smaller as the years go along but the cap goes up as it goes along.

Ultimately, I think I would give him one more season to see if A) he improves or B) can be effective in a lesser role. If he can be a really, really good 3C, then as the cap goes up his contract will fall back in line with the rising pay scale. Plus, you can always buy him out in a year or two, and that lowers (x2) the number of years his dead money is on the books.
Dom mentioned on Sunday night that they could trade him and retain and then he may be an attractive "get" for a team like maybe Vancouver. So if the Bruins retain a quarter of his cap hit, maybe he goes back there or is attractive to another team?

Would you give a bag to Chychrun and use Lorhei as a centerpiece for a first line forward?
I wouldn't shell out major coin and years to a guy that's missed as many games as Jakob Chychrun.

I'm also not sure Lohrei gets you close to a good first liner at this time. If he scored 10+ goals this season, you'd have had a shot.
