Yeah, it makes more sense to trade our pick this year, plus however many additional picks it takes to move up to 2nd overall, and grab Misa.

Zacha - Misa - Pasta
#2LW - Mitts - Geekie
Minten - Poitras - #3RW

Then you have $13m to fill those wing spots. You could sign Marchand, Marner or Ehlers, or you could let the kids battle it out (Khusy / Merkulov / Lysell) and keep it young.

I've been playing around with the pick value calculator on Puckpedia recently. To move up to 2nd overall is going to be STEEP. Right now I'm assuming Boston drafts #10OA, I have the following and its still about 6pts shy based on the calculator

Boston 2025 1st (#10OA)
Toronto 2026 1st
Carolina 2025 2nd
St. Louis 2025 2nd
Boston 2025 2nd

If anyone wants to check out here you go (you can also see what salary cap relief would cost pick wise)

The perimeter nature of both Ehlers and Marners game scares me come spring time but isn’t a complete blocker since they are play drivers you could compliment with guys that get inside more. Wouldn’t touch Boeser with a ten foot pole. Don’t need more guys that can do good stuff if someone else does all the work.

But I do think Ehlers contract will start with an 8 or a 9 and that’s scary.
I was shocked to see Toronto attempt to trade Marner. I have a strong belief Marner is ready to breakout with a significant PO having watched him in 4 Nations and more importantly since then. He has looked tremendous.

The same way you explained to Bergeron, it is Pasta's time, now do you want some help, or do you another like this season. I bet Pasta say go ahead I want a chance to win.
You didn't need to explain it to Patrice, he retired before Pastrnak got his deal.

They won’t move Bedard. They can’t.

Nothing is stopping them. It's not like the club has some reputation to save at this point. You are probably right that they won't but they could get a hall for him that might actually be better for their shitty franchise. A guy can dream. But if not, tank for Misa lol.

Wtf

Will post the tweet when Twitter is back online, but Poitras was sent down to Providence. I would normally be against this, but with all of the added acquisitions, it will be good to see what the Bruins have with Khusnutdinov and Mittelstadt. Poitras can also help Minten acclimate to the org.

Thinking about an offer sheet for McTavish... What would it take for Anaheim to say, we'll take the picks and build around Leo Carlson? They're not going to be squeezed by other cap considerations because they have $40m in cap space.

Offer Sheets
$1.6m or less = Nada
$1.6-2.4 = 3rd round pick
$2.4-$4.8 = 2nd round pick
$4.8-7.2 = 1st and 3rd round pick
$7.2-9.6 = 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick
$9.6-12 = Two 1sts, 2nd and 3rd round pick
12+ = Four 1st round picks
AAV for offer sheets for offer sheets is calculated by dividing the total by 5 years (or less if the contract is less).
I would rather attempt a trade with Anaheim first than go that route, because I am not paying McTavish over 8M which Anaheim is matching. Spitballing I guess you could offer Anaheim the '25 1st, Mittelstadt and Lohrei? Would Anaheim bite? McTavish is a good young center, but I question his upside.

Problem is it’s not the NFL. Trades like that almost never happen, especially for just accumulating more picks. And almost never that high in the draft.
That’s true, but it’s not unheard of. Buffalo for example has no interest in more prospects, but maybe they’d be interested in more first round picks that they can use as currency to go buy established players.

I would try and re-sign Marchy and hopefully he convinces Bennett to join.

All depends on draft order but you my be able to switch places with Anaheim at the draft for one of the centermen.

7.5. Who do you want to sign?
I don't want Bennett. I think a lot is going to hinge on the health of Hampus Lindholm, to be honest, I like him but am very concerned about him. Chychrun is still a young player, and I would most definitely kick the tires on him. I would also consider, Marner, something I cannot believe I am saying, RFA, Mason McTavish, is definite look see..

Marner is the only leaf that plays with heart. I see him with the bruins next year.
Mitch Marner is not a guy you want to usher in a new era of Bruins hockey.

That and you guys would get tired of me. He's soft until proven otherswise to me. And if he ever came to Boston I'd be one foul f***er.

Marner is all skill but no compete in the playoffs.
Random 4 midseason games doesn't mean anything.
Anyway, the Bruins front office will sign UFA in Tavares 7x11m to play as the top line center, therefore any Marner discussion is pointless.
