After the 4 nations finishes. Colorado offers Middlestat for Marchand. Do we take it??
I watch a lot of Avs highlights and used to watch the odd game or two, along with the odd Sabre game or two. I say no. I am more than willing to trade Marchy but not for Cory M. He has good speed and quickness, but average sense and, if hf boards is to be believed, below average focus. He disappears for 10 or20 game chunks which tends to support this. ...

That's just not true.

Outside of his 82 point season with Gaudreau and Tkachuk, he's had seasons of 65 points, 78 points, 54 points (and 29 goals) in 70 games, 47 points in 56 games, and 64 points.

In the 3 seasons leading up to (but not including) his 82 point season with JG and MT, he averaged 30 goals and 71 points per 82. In the season right after JG and MT he put up 64 points.
He averages about 45 pts a year, and trending downward, outside that one year. You play the numbers game all you want but there is no way in hell the number 7.8 mil should be attached to him, unfortunately it is, thank you Donnie, and all the fans that screamed for his guy.

Watched him a ton at the WJ and as a Sabre and his hockey sense and vision were two of his best traits. He always reminded me of a better skating Craig Janney.

Other than one year with Gaudreau and Thachuk, he is just a 40point player, so we should only judge him on one playoff that everyone is excited about, not for 8 mil and 30 years old on top of it .............awful signing!
One year? He had 357 points in 418 games with the flames. He put up 64 points the year before last with Tyler Toffoli and Dillon Dube as his most common linemates. Dude also has 8 points in his last 10 so maybe wait until he goes cold before coming back with your same tired takes.

This team has always been top heavy, and has had historically great goaltending throughout that time. 1 lucky Cup
We also lost cups unluckily. We earned that cup in a big way.

Tampa, Chicago & Pittsburgh all won Cups with Kucherov, Kane & Kessel playing important rolls. You can fit in talented players who don't conform to a
two way culture.
Absolutely but you HAVE-to the the character guys to lead the way. 2011

EARNED IT IS RIGHT!! Very 1st series vs most hated rivals they lost first 2 games at home. Then won game 7 vsTB 1-0 ..Then lost first 2 games again in Cup finals but won in 7 on opponents ice.Yea I agree with you, lucky is not a word I would use here

Oh Ok, let me do that , I am someone who will admit when he is wrong, I will not be wrong on this one. I am not one to gloat or rub it in someone face, and say I told you so, but I think I can make an exception.

I'll once again agree with you or disagree after the playoffs are done. Add in the rising cap and if he produces when it matters in the playoffs when Zacha goes ghost-mode, I'll be better able to judge the contract.

I get the comparison, and almost agree, but that does not explain why he disappears.
He does disappear
Moving Lohrei is just the opposite of what this organization needs. The Flyers are a team that is trying to get younger and it's taking them time, I surely admit .That said they made the type trade I want the Bruins to make. They traded Claude Giroux,Connor Bunnaman ,German Rubtsov & a 5th rd pick in 2024 for Owen Tippet, 1st rd pick in 2024 & 3rd pick in 2023.Now it does not need to include the extra stuff but the player that the Flyers acquired checks alot of boxes. This would be type players I want Bruins to aquire .I am just giving example here by the way.
I’m a big Lohrei fan but I’d move him, for a top young center. Sweeney hasn’t been able to draft a skilled center in a decade. He’s done Ok with d-men. I’d take a chance he could find another Lohrei before he ever finds a number one center

Not saying you are wrong heck u are probably right, but the idea here should be to find deals and at the same time keeping our young players. The top line centre hole though has been an issue I agree

I agree 100 percent but what other assets do the Bruins have to put out there to draw any interest? You have Lohrei and Poitras unless your trading Pasta or McAvoy. I’d deal a Swayman in a heartbeat as well for that future number one center, but teams just don’t covet goalies that much imo.

I’m not dealing Lohrei for a thirty something Center it’s going to be in a youth for youth deal.

that's fine but 7 years not a good look from my point of view

They might. It doesn't solve the Bruins problems though

He's averaged 21 goals and 55 points per 82.

But if you eliminate all the seasons he was better than that, you can probably drive the average down to 45 points

Hmm, you have a point, except I am willing to bet Sweens is gone this Summer, or surely next Summer. Lohrei just does not have any of the basics defensively, which is not surprising given his history. I am definitely willing to trade him for a more advanced defensive or forward prospect.

He is unique but in this case unique isn't a good thing. You don't see any 6"5' rovers who play zero d.

These names are before your time I bet but are probably Lohrei's absolute ceiling, Willie Huber and Rick Lanz. Both were about his size, pretty good skaters with huge shots, much better than Lohrei's, but both stronger and tougher. Huber also did play much smaller than his size though.
