If its reliable, maybe they are taking offers, but I doubt it says they are desperately looking to offload him. Which is what the question was- you said desperately offload and I still don't know where you got that from.
I read it from another poster, I was just repeating the post.

Espo was a pretty good hockey player before he got here, and Bobby Hull was pissed that the Blackhawks traded him. Middleton walked into a buzzsaw for a coach and that was all Middleton needed, the Bruins with their coaching in shambles, there is no such buzzsaw, he went to Vegas, because he was to mean. Neely and Zegras should not be mentioned in the same breath.
The point is all those players turned their Careers around once given a change of Scenery, Never said a zegras career will end up being HOF worthy as those players, but one thing for certain, Neely never would of been the player that he was, if Sinden didn't get him out of Canuck land and the same for McNabb in Buffalo. Middleton was a classic example of the NYR just giving up on him and trading him for an aging Ken Hodge. like I said I would never be that foolhardy to say Zegras is going to be close those players career, the point being that a change can benefit a player greatly.

They wound up with a better team in front of him, do expect Sweeney to build a team , with limited picks, shit prospects, and no cap room, nothing he has done suggests that he is capable. he is good at over paying, nmc, and signing the wrong players. please do not respond because you will not convince me that they are not overpaying for goaltending, when they need help in front of them.
So the problem in your opinion is with Sweeney’s inability to build a team… not that they’re spending too much on goaltending to be competitive. Unfair?

“Please do not respond”

Not trying to convince you of anything. Just stating that your argument against Ali was flawed.

Paying Swayman wasn't the problem, IMO. It was how long it took to get him signed for pretty much what most figured he'd get, was the problem.
Swayman and his agent, took advantage of Sweeney miss reading the situation in front of him. I understand the Ullmark situation with the trade clause he had, but that still was no reason for Sweeney not get Sway signed before he lost leverage. I know everyone loves Swayman, but no way he should have got that contract, I have a feeling Neely feels the same way, thus a strained relationship between him and Sweeney. To compound the situation giving out that contract to Lindholm. I think right now he should be talking to each of his FA and their agents find out their intentions, and what they are seeking for their next contract, and you have 3 games left before the break to get answers, if not what you want to hear or they drag their feet, move on from them............no exceptions, and yes if they could move Swayman, DO IT!

Given that he had to carry the team when Swayman was out and that he's been solid when we needed him to be, he's earned his contract this season. Name me some goalies with decent NHL experience (10+ games) that would cost under $1.3 mil with similar, if not better numbers than Korpi and maybe I'll entertain the idea of trading Korpi. I won't be buying him out.

Sure I just did a quick look and Hofer, Lankinen and Annunen all have numbers better then Korpisalo and their cap hit is under 1 million, this dosen't even include guys like Ottawa's Merilainen who has fantastic stats but has only played 12 games. The bottom line is Korpisalo's cap hit of 3 mil/year is far too rich for what he provides. Hopefully he will be bought out in the offseason since the buyout is minimal.

There is no team in hockey who is trading for Korpisalo at his cap hit, that is not a realistic option.

I appreciate you actually providing names to continue to facilitate a realistic discussion about moves for the offseason. I'll look up those goalies and keep my eyes on them. I'm not opposed to moving on from Korpi but it has to be for a better reason than his cap hit, especially when it appears to be going up considerably.

I think it sucks that we have the only GM who ever overpaid a player by a little bit. More frustrating is that he signs guys who will never play better in any season subsequent to year 1 of their deals.

Every contract looks worse in year 1 --- he'll be tied for the 6th highest paid goalie next season. Beyond, that, who knows?

Not really worried about Swayman, we need to surround him with far better coaches and players.

Or three other teams to sell to

Let's just hope that whatever Sweeney does it improves the Bruins future, if he gets lucky maybe it could help us both short and long term.

The guy who I'd keep an eye on is Boeser. If Vancouver moves on from him he'd be interesting. 27yr old and a pending UFA. RS RW that will be around 30G & 55P a season. Last season he popped off for 40 goals & 73P. If you could make a deal for him and sign him to an extension before he hits the market, it'd be a nice piece to add to the top 6.

I think both sides got beaten up pretty good in that negotiation. I think both sides came out of it disappointed with the final dollar amount. I think both sides were hurt by the negotiation. And I think all of that is reflected in the season we're having.

The Bruins are not a good team is why they are having this season. They are capable of having a really good game but cannot do it consistently.Just look at the stats ..
25th in Goals per game
25th in Goals against
30th in Powerplay %
25th in Penalty Kill.
Sweeney and the rest of his group need to focus on adding younger talent, piece by piece with Bruins future in mind.

I just read the Globe Sunday Hockey Notes and Chara discussing Marchand

Zeroooo point zeroooo he’s recommending trading him

Not sure I love my pets that much
Culture means way more than people think. He was born to be a Bruin. You keep him.
