In terms of Middlestadt, Maybe you swap Coyle for him. Casey has a bit more upside, Coyle is probably more reliable overall . Contracts are similar, I certainly wouldn't add much
If they would do it, absolutely and wouldn't think twice about it.

Middlestadt is almost 5 years younger I believe. I make that deal in a second and would add.

The problem with Middlestadt is he is already at 5.75 Million (so you couldn't flip Freddy for him without a significant cap add). He is 5 years younger than Coyle but they are FA at the same time. Unless his game took off and improved in Boston I wouldn't be happy extending him at that number, and He and agent would more likely want a 255 or more bump

My Oh my. Coyle gets zero respect from some fans. I often wonder if they actually watch the bruins play.
Unfortunately yes we do. He has mastered looking great at doing nothing, Has the guy thrown an actually body check this season?

Can't wait for this guy to be gone. Use his 5m on a player that can help the team get better.

Alright no need to takes stabs.

You get a younger, cost controlled and more offensive gifted player in Middlestadt to play in your top 6.

Totally plausible scenario. Coyle is 33 in March. This team needs a shake up and I personally look at him as not in their future plans.

I also dont think Coyle alone gets it done. But the Avs could for sure use a guy of his playstyle so it could be the start of something.

We know what the Center values are, especially for guys his age. Coyle has been making 5m for what the last 4 years and one more to go.

Middlestadt will demand a 6m deal for sure, I would take him over Coyle next season on the last year of their deals.

I think he got a lot of that a boys by boxing lilleberg ears in. Including Cam and these are also things other GMs and teams take notice of.
Trent will make 4-4.5 on the open market easily in my view

Bruins would be sending at least the 25/26 second rounder and a prospect for this to ever happen. Coyle doesn't make the aves better.

Now Freddy straight up would work for both teams, again in my opinion only.

Good even hockey trade

I mean I do that trade too 🤷‍♂️

At some point you gotta take a risk on an underperforming C to fill that top 6 C spot. Find the next Reinhart or Strome, obviously easier said than done. Coyle likely isn't staying unless he takes a big discount, and you still have the option to cut bait with Middelstadt if he stinks here.

That being said I'd love if they targeted Cozens instead

Providence can ice a better 2nd PP unit...it's brutal
If Vinnie, was the answer to all their problems why was he not up here all season, second line, second PP. Walhstrom, f***ed up he scored his last game, and his other sin he was working hard and his line looked good, what complete disaster this year has been. The decision making going back to the offseason right up until today is a complete joke.

My Oh my. Coyle gets zero respect from some fans. I often wonder if they actually watch the bruins play.
They watch Coyle's Sullivan tire commercial, that is their qualifications.

I would resign Coyle or get a much better player in return. Middlestadt would disappoint in Boston. As he did in Buffalo.

While the Bruins desperately need some firepower on offense and Miller is a very good player at the moment, the Boston Bruins don't do it.

If these rumors about Miller and other players are true, it's no longer a coincidence. The same thing has happened before with Horvat, for example, when it was rumored that Miller and Horvat didn't have very good chemistry and Horvat was traded away. In all these cases, Miller is always on the other side.

Then there's the contract. The player is already old and the contract will go on for years. A declining player, if not now then in the years to come.
He is not old he is 31.But that still does not fit direction Bruins need to go in my humble opinion.EP 40 u can sign me up but not him unless he comes cheap which he won't.
True.

Whatever one thinks of them now, EL & NZ were by consensus the best players out there to be had.

That was certainly my take at the time.

Zadorov has recently shown signs of life.

Lindholm...
True, but he was cornered with Lindholm because if he waits and adds later with saved cap he might not be close enough to matter.Sweeney was kind of cornered there .

Didn't necessarily say I wouldn't do it, just said that the fact the are both UFA at the same time does mitigate some of the value of getting a player 6 years younger.

But Freddy straight up doesn't work financially for Boston, well unless you think Lindholm is not returning this year, or you plan to trade Coyle or others somewhere else.

Is Freddy as a UFA more valuable than Coyle with one year left? If you are a team trying to win this year, who is the better player (I think the answer is Coyle, but maybe I'm wrong). That said, I am absolutely 100% sure that Freddy is not worth a 2nd round pick and a prospect more than Coyle is. At best Freddy is likely only worth a second , which means you think Coyle has either zero or negative value

I agree not giving up that package up for Miller, especially where this some question that he could be hurt, five more years at that cost, no thanks. Would a healthy Miller help this team absolutely, but...... I think Kreider, with a shorter contract less money should be the target, you can keep Zacha in the middle, and Pasta, would be a plus for Kreider, the way he has been using his play making skills this year. I might off base here but seems to me the risk factor is lowered.
I would rather have Kreider than Miller for several reasons.

I don't want Miller.

And I rather doubt Vancouver would part with EP for what the Bruins might offer.

JT Miller would be a phenomenal Bruins

No idea what it would take but I’d be all over this

Gotta make money not sure how
