I don't know. IMO we do have two potential top6 talents in Lysell and Poitras. I think we have a potential top4 D in Mason Lohrei.

If we can add a #1c things might fall into place next year. I'm hoping that 1c is Petterson, but it might have to be a buy low / take a chance guy like Washington did with Dubois. We'll also have money to spend on a free agent or two. Teams that struggle tend to over correct so I could see the Bruins bouncing back strong next season... but finding a real #1 center is where it starts and has to be the priority.
I think it’s all on guys rebounding if we are to have chance. Swayman, Mac, Carlo, hopefully Lindholm. That’s a lot of $$ for guys playing well below there expectations.

When you really get into it, it's our dreadful PP that's holding this team back. If you look at the first unit between Pasta(5), Marchand(2), Lindholm(1), McAvoy(1) and Zacha(0) that's a combined 9 PP goals....NINE. It's absolutely insane how poor the power play has been especially when you take out the contributions of Braz(4) and Coyle(3) from the 2nd unit...the overall percentage looks even worse.

They have 19 PP goals so more have actually come from 2nd unit guys than the 1st.

There are teams that have twice as many goals as us with less opportunities.

Charlie McAvoy has 2 PP assists...TWO

Patrik Laine who has played in only 14 games has as many PP goals as our entire 1st unit over a half of season.

Some changes need to happen but most importantly they NEED a LH powerplay threat on the opposite half wall of Pasta who can shoot, find the seams, actually utilize the bumper, etc. There is nothing more obvious. It has to be Miller, Pettersson, ZegrasI something of that ilk or just don't bother.
Is Zegras even available? Why would Anaheim move him?

Brad Marchand on the second PP unit?

Clode, is that...is that you?
Over the team's last 25 games, the PP's overall performance has been better with (Forwards) Geekie, Brazeau, Coyle, Pastrnak, and Zacha than it has with Brad.

I was also focusing a bit more on chemistry as Geekie and Zacha have combined for 44% of the primary assists on 88's goals this season. IMO, as Pastrnak goes, so goes the PP.

As the roster currently stands, I'd like to see Sacco try these PP units:

Brazeau
Pastrnak - Geekie - Zacha
Lohrei

Coyle
Wahlstrom - E.Lindholm

Man that hurts my eyes looking at those options. There’s barely enough skill here to have one legit power play unit. 12.2% on the year. Brutal.

I’d just move McAvoy off the top unit and put Lohrei there. He’s just not a threat to shoot. With that you lose E. Lindholm’s tipping ability as the bumper guy and it also means teams can cheat on Pasta for the one timer.

Without that threat to shoot from up high, it limits your options elsewhere.

This is where the team misses the Matt Grzelcyk-esque players.

Why is Bergeron confidently being discussed here as new President/ GM material?? What experience does he have that he garners many of your votes? You folks must be related to the Kraft family

I’ll say this: players who were brilliant on the ice can sometimes have the mind for this sort of thing.

Yzerman comes to mind.

That being said him being “heir apparent” is wrong. If he’s got the aptitude and he wants to, he should start in personnel like Mcquaid.

Sweeney had 10 years I think he’s done a very good job and should have had minimum one Cup between 2019,23, and 20 if covid never wipes out 4 months

No idea who - I like Gorton a lot local and super guy but he’s treated well in Montreal

Bergy has 4 kids he said sometimes he’s got so much going on he doesn’t watch games

They plan on moving back to Quebec

They could offer Bergeron a trillion dollars I don’t see him in management here

I think he would have to be at games which would mess with his parental responsibilities

why would Langenbrunner be good - doesn’t he travel a lot back and forth to his family ?

The next GM probably an outsider

I like Yzerman - he drafts and builds Bruins teams

People in Boston respect and like him I would go there if fired and Gorton can’t and won’t leave Montreal

family is more important to Bergeron then being Bruins President

I’d like Gorton or Yzerman.
