Points should come...this team is really thin on true goal scorers and we have to realize Marchand will decline.
Points will come, but not the kind of points, that you would want out of a player who was suppose to be your top center at the beginning of the season. Lindholm is a perfect 3 who can play up when needed, a situation to common among the Bruins forwards.

Yeah, Lord it was an example of the type of forwards you need to carry Morgan Geekie as a top 6 forward, that's all. Bruins aren't winning shit with Geekie in their top 6 with their current crop. I used Florida only because the other poster brought up Rodrigues.

I mean Florida did trade for Tkachuk, Reinhart and Verhaege.... Barkov was a high pick and Florida wasn't stupid enough to deal him like the Bruins with Seguin and Sweeney hasn't pulled off a deal for a legit top 6 player in over a decade so here we are
Doesn't change your point but small correction - Verhaeghe wasn't qualified by Tampa and was signed by Florida as a UFA, not traded for. In the context of this conversation, Geekie has had a pretty similar journey, why can't he be our Verhaeghe. I'm sure no one considered him a top 6 candidate either when signed.

Gonna get killed for this but....

Merkulov Coyle Lysell

Anything that gets Beecher for a few games out is worth a look to me.

Not completely giving up on him and he has some moments, primarily on the PK…..but, I don’t get the free ride he’s gotten,

IMO his PK ability certainly doesn’t make up for his 2 goals in 43 games.

Lets hope for sure

They should keep him at center maybe and move Kastelic to RW ehen he comes back, I like Johnny but he's ourely a 4th line player at this point

Don’t want to get into this DK v Lou pillow fight, but the only thing I’ll say is that if the Bruins really do suck for 10 years the way Florida did I don’t think we’d end up with fewer members here. Would probably be more like 10x, if you look around a little.
Joe ruined any chance of a fight by siding with Lou in any war

I have Bruins getting 8th spot beating 1 seed Leafs in six games - the demise won’t be happening till Rich Keefe reports it

Apples & oranges.Verhaeghe scored 34 last season & 42 season before.Geekie is never reaching that level for my money.

That’s Rich “Pucks” Keefe, to you.

I'm just saying, Verhaeghe was a waiver pickup at one point, had a decent season with Tampa with 13 points in 52 games wasnt retained. He turned into a top 6 guy. I'm skeptical Geekie gets there but maybe we shouldn't write him off.

Will see how next set of 10-15 games go for the B's and around the east. Right now DNQ is a real possibility looking at standings

If it looks like DNQ after the 10-15, selling a few players at deadline and freeing up space to attempt a retool seems like a no brainer

Would love EP but seems like a pipe dream

I don't want to- just, as I said, specualating about what it could look like what we currently have.

I appreciate the perspective and that could be right. I'd love the Bruins to acquire a #1 C, but with Lindholm under contract already and not likely to get moved, where does that leave Poitras? He's too talented for a third line grind role with third line players. Leave him in Providence for another season?

Bruins top 6 doesn't have a high end #2, never mind a top 20 #1C. Zacha is a mid level #2C, Lindholm is a mid level 3C and Coyle looks like he is seriously regressing and is a low level 3C. They are completely screwed at Center right now. Poitras at best will be a mid level 2C.

Can't see them outside of dealing McAvoy getting a #1C.

If they aren't willing to trade McAvoy and are 6 points out of a PO spot at the 4 Nations, I would seriously consider a 2 month tank for Misa\Hagens by shutting down Pastrnak and H. Lindholm for the year. Trade Marchand for a #1 and hope that team goes out in 1st Round.

I would sign Geekie right now with Zacha deal. Bring up Poitras and Lysell after
4 Nations.

They are doomed to being a bubble team\DNQ with a Center group of Zacha - Poitras - E. Lindholm.

If a new CBA allows it I buyout E. Lindholm. You can't be paying a 3C, 7M+, that simple.
