Boston Bruins 24-25 Roster/Cap thread XI

I think that's part of the problem with this team. McAvoy and Pasta are not great leaders. Some people have natural leadership qualities, call it a kind of charisma if you like, and people follow them and would go through a wall for them. Despite their other positive qualities, I don't think McAvoy and Pasta are those kind of people. And I even wonder about Marchand sometimes.

Who knows if that report is true, or just media muckraking, but if any player, Pasta included, has a problem being held accountable, then that's a problem for the team.

I’m actually not the person that said that.

But it’s coming from somewhere.
Sorry if I misinterpreted but you said it would be a big smear if it wasn’t true, so I thought you meant a smear from the Bruins organization, not from Keefe himself.

Smear by the media or the team using the media. If it’s not true, it would be a smear.

I have no insight into Keefes connections, but he was correct recently about Montgomery/Sacco moves, and I believe was early on the Swayman deal being finalized. I was skeptical at first, but he has been right recently so had earned a bit of benefit of the doubt, IMO.

Marchand is this team's engine. Team goes as Brad goes. He's getting older and this is result. There is no player who can take his place.

After Swayman fiasco, Brad can ask $12 Million for 3 years and it is OK. Management has lost a plot after giving huge salary for young inexperienced goalie after one passing lucky streak playoffs.

Pasta's ego can go. People do not want to give 1st rd draft pick, but think about what you can get with Pasta + 1st rd pick. That would give a chance to redirect franchises team identity to (maybe) better direction.
So Felger, is retiring, and this clown! thinks he is the heir apparent, his resume reads, throw shit against the wall and hope some of it sticks.

What's his source? It may or may not be true, but it certainly is typical of sports media to start piling on with crap like this when a team hits a tough patch.

I dont really follow this guy, but I think any of us here could have predicted those two things happening.

Yes, but there was specificity around timing.

Look, I’m not a Rich Keefe fan girl and not looking to defend him, but usually where there’s smoke there’s fire. No idea what his sources are.

But back to the original point I was making, EITHER WAY, true or not, this is very bad. Either it’s true (very bad), or he’s being smeared (either by the team or the media, also very bad).

It’s bad either way.

If it’s true, it’s bad.

If it’s not, and this is a smear, it’s bad.

I just wish this team could handle their shit internally
All anti player leaks go through Keefe. It's what the Bruins do. I don't know if they do it to distract from performance, or gauge the fans reactions, or pave the way to maybe move the said player or players at a later date.

Why the assumption that the Bruins told this to Keefe? Keefe has a horrible track record of being right
"Swayman looking for an AAV of 10 million"

bruins just lost their what sixth in a row? Gets focus off management that's for sure.

Marchand - Lindholm - _____
_____ - Zacha - Pasta
Geekie - Pawtwasss - Braz
Koepke - Beech - Kasty

Coyle, Freddy, and wahlstrom can all GTFO
Maybe keep walhstrom as ur 13th incase something down line happens.

On the "Pucks With Haggs" podcast posted yesterday, Haggerty and New England Hockey Journal editor Evan Maranofsky pointed to a lack of leadership from ostensible Assistant Captains Charlie McAvoy and David Pastrnak.

After the lifeless loss to the Oilers, media types requested comment from Bruins leadership.

Charlie Coyle and Branden Carlo, neither of whom wear an A, stepped in to address questions.

McCavoy and Pastrnak were nowhere to be seen.

What does this tell you?
It's the Thornton, Boynton and Raycroft Bruins again,

No. It’s when they deal Pasternak.

Would we be mad if they traded Pasta for pettersson?

I wouldn't be. You have to give to get and elite goal scorer vs elite center, I think center wins every time as the more important player.

Yes, no doubt about it, accomplishes nothing.
Well to me it adds. Top line centre. If they toss in coyle and take back garland too it would plug the right wing hole it would create as well.

It also addresses the power play imo.

Pasta for Pettersson…. Hmmm.
Everyone wants them to play together. What if?
Would this trigger other game changing moves? Opportunities for Lysell and Poitras?

Pettersson? Isn’t he a Swede - along with Lysell?
Poitras also playing the right wing since a spot has been vacated… or share that with Coyle?

Not sure anything improves really - just moves the problems around and gives the team a giant kick in the ass.

Boston Gets:
  • C J.T. Miller
  • 2026 third-round pick
Vancouver gets:
  • C Charlie Coyle
  • D Brandon Carlo
  • 2025 conditional first-round pick
  • 2026 third-round pick
This mock trade fulfills the requirements laid out by Vancouver while allowing the Bruins to keep crucial parts of their roster, such as center Pavel Zacha and top blueliner Charlie McAvoy.
Too bad Jim Benning isn't their GM because that would be highway robbery by the Bruins. Regardless of being a fit or not, imagine getting a point per game center for Charlie Coyle, who is basically a cap dump, and a serviceable #3/4D.
