Would he even waive to go there? My guess if he ever waives its for the Rangers, Islanders or Penguins.
Moving Frederic and Brazeau clears just over $3m. Not much you can do with that. That being said - I am all for selling high on Brazeau and getting a GM to overpay on Freddy.
I also wonder if Korpisalo would be attractive given goalie injuries across the league. Bring up one of the PRO goalers. Screw it. Sway wanted to job...let him sink or swim.
No need to move McAvoy or Sway.If the Bruins move McAvoy, they will spend who knows how many seasons looking for another #1 dman.
McAvoy has his warts, more than I thought he would at this stage in his development, but he's still a #1 dman in this league. Remember the post Bourque/pre Chara years? I don't want to relive that. McAvoy stays.
The part that I like the most is getting rid of the Lindholm contract, I would rather add Lysell or Merkolov, over the draft picks. Vancouver, would be nuts to not jump on that. I have to admit moving Lindholms salary is definitely clouding my judgement.E. Lindholm, Lohrei, and pick or two for JT Miller?
People are so quick to make excuses for Pasta with the injury question. McAvoy has had shoulder issues and takes a beating every game as he is the focus back there for other teams,Imo the only way you deal Mac is if a top 3 pick is coming back and no team that gets a top 3 pick is likely on board with that given core ages and what not. They have to find a way to activate the hate in Mac though. He has it and plays his best when there is a sharp edge to his game. His buddies Matt Tkachuk and Matthews say he's the strongest guy in the weight room by a long shot, why can't the B's and Mac find a way to translate that to the ice? I think they hoped Zadorov would give Mac a longer leash to be an asshole out there and Lohrei would take a bigger step and take some offensive duties off of him but so far it hasn't happened that way.
TLDR: Make Mac Mean Again and he will thrive.
Thats a good point, I'm definitely not in the want him gone camp or even think trading him would work out to favor the B's. I just want to see the hate flow through him a bit more but it's easy to say that when I'm not the one getting smashed on the boards 23 mins a night.People are so quick to make excuses for Pasta with the injury question. I know none of these guys are ever fully healthy but Im willing to bet he's been dealing with something.
He is a great player, not the least bit worried about it long term. Its just looks to be one of those years.
$3million this year, at a pro-rated amount is doable...even if that player makes more money next year, we can fit them under the cap with it going up again as will have space.
Be smart with our assets instead of always going the FA route.
The same thing. Here's the deal for me: McAvoy is very good defenseman who is having a tough year (among a few others), but either way he is not living up to his salary and does not look to ever do it at this point. He could bring you a haul, and I am one who would consider moving him for the right price. It would have to be the really right price, though. You guys are really something - Charlie Mac isn't having the greatest of seasons and that happens to everyone, but on a free falling disaster of a team who can't score with a -20 goal differential who also plays ALL the hard minutes, he is still a plus player - sure he makes a lot of money and we want better results but let's step off the ledge here - what would you all be saying about the -22 Roman Josi, on a worse performing team?
Its the bold. At the end of the day, its the price tag that is now attached to the player. We see it around the league as well. The same thing. Whats wild is that they still won't win a cup
They came damn close last year....Whats wild is that they still won't win a cup
Something about horseshoes and hand grenades. They came damn close last year....
Only one team can win it.Something about horseshoes and hand grenades.
That just sounds like an easy way to lose your paycheck but I see your point.Only one team can win it.
If you asked me to bet my next paycheck and pick 25 teams that aren't gonna win a cup this year, they're not on my list....
