Frederic isn't getting a 1st.

Teams saw what Tampa did for Jeannot, and are probably like "Yeahhh no"

Trade Frederic for a first round pick pick up engvall and a 2nd round pick and 4th to take his contract. He might help only 28 and it's a el cheapo aav of 3 million plus stacking draft picks is fun.
Engvall sucks ass.

Don, you're my dawg, but don't just toss random names out there, lol. You add Engvall and he's just another healthy scratch. No need in grabbing someone who won't play. It's another player in another log jam at the back of the bus.

Don't know why Buffalo would do it, but I would.
I mean, they probably would laugh in Bostons face, but I'm just looking at what a disaster they are.

Tuch is a guy who I'd like to see them go after. Though, it would probably take more than Frederic and a #6 dman. Maybe a 2nd rounder?

You gotta think something will give in Buffalo rather quickly. That franchise has been a joke for a while.

I was pissed when Tuch went to Vegas in the expansion draft. Always liked him. A few years back when it seemed all we needed was another RW, I was so hoping we could grab him somehow.

Spit balling because Buffalo is a complete disaster:

To Buffalo:
Trent Frederic
Andrew Peeke/Morgan Geekie (cap dump?) - I'm not sure who to add, lol.
2nd round pick

To Boston:
Alex Tuch
You're adding one of Lysell or Poitras to anything like that, unfortunately. I'm not saying I would necessarily do that, or that I think it's a 'good' price, it's just that other teams who will also want that player will have the ability to surrender a future of similar value. Most teams have more guys to pick from, the Bruins have, generously, 3

Spitball big my friend Thompson & Tuch for 88\18. Can u imagine if Letourneau hits?
Thompson 6:06 and Letourneau 6:06 down the middle.

Lol, when did this guy become Mike Bossy?

Sure good player but let's slow the roll. Freddy, Peeke, and a second?

I will promise you DS would not make that call to begin with. The guy is never healthy either.

He has that one outlier season when he blew away all of his other seasons. I value Tuch as a 22 goal 30 assist player . Good player as a big wing. If Buffalo is trying to sell the guy who has 36 goals and was a PPG player in 22/23, then i would have no interest in paying that value level

An inconsistent 3rd liner, a #6 defenseman, and a 2nd round pick for a legit #2 RW with size. Sweeney would absolutely make that trade. Buffalo, unfortunately, would not. Then again it’s Buffalo and they have no idea what they’re doing, so who knows

Let me be the first to mention Kreider in this thread. He solves so many issues if it could involve the Rangers taking salary back. The guy would be awesome here. Big, rugged (his neck is wider than his head for crying out loud!) fearless in front of the net. He cures the power play woes. Very durable guy NOT to be compared to Backes. Get him and not only are we in, but we’re in contention.

On the main board, our Ducks guy (pokes in here to talk about former or current Ducks players, nice dude) mentioned that McTavish might be a guy who could benefit from a change of scenery.

That would be my number one want. I doubt he’s on the market but if we could throw all of our assets at that guy I’d be very happy.

Again I think the guys to pick up are young disgruntled centers from underperforming teams.

Think people like Reinhart or Eichel in the past and McTavish, Zegras, or Cozens right now.

I think you are right about him not being available. The kid is a 21 yo C playing his fourth season. He has size 6’1 and 219 lbs. He has scored 40 points twice already. I’d give up a lot and I’m sure other teams would well.

I always liked Kreider but not sure he cures pp woes as it seems to lack in entry and crisp passing most of all.
So how much would you think our chances of contending improve. Odds now of B's winning the Cup are @30/1. Do you think his addition improves it to better than 20/1? Are you thinking in contention means nearly as good a shot as anyone? I think he could only help short term but I'd really be looking to not taking on vet contracts to maybe improve our very outside shot.
