This team can't beat the dregs of the league in the regular season, but they're poised to go on a run in the playoffs against good teams...LOFLCan we please stop with the "this team is built for the playoffs" nonsense?

I think Sundquist would be a good add. Never quits. Polar opposite to FreddyBuchnevich will be going up to 8 million for 3 seasons after this one ends .I like him but not at that price.
I guess I'd say to your question what have the guys in those spots done to deserve keeping them? So far, I've seen zero from that group of suck, tbh. Maybe calling up some skill players lights a fire under the guys here, even if the answer isn't Lysell or Merkulov.Whose pride are they protecting by not making a call up? Has Lysell forced his way into the lineup with his play this year? I was all for it late last season. I thought he would earn it this season out of camp. Last year he got injured at a bad time this year he has largely underwhelmed. Maybe this is just about opportunity and merit?
Yeah, not being able to admit you were wrong. They clearly made a decision that he wasn't good enough, and now, no matter what he does, they won't deviate.Pride? You know he is a Sweeney draft pick right? What a ridiculous narrative.

They don't have any skill players beside Lysell & Merkulov in Providence, do they?
Unless they are hiding another Brazeau down there.
Funny i do think this team is built for the playoffs. Come trade deadline they land a scoring winger and speedy forward I can see them doing damage. This team can't beat the dregs of the league in the regular season, but they're poised to go on a run in the playoffs against good teams...LOFL
Well Poitras is there at the moment
That’s the issue. Give them decent time in 1st or 2nd line spot. Stop with the 3rd line crap. Belongs to the McMuffins Geeks and Fred’s.I don’t think this is fair. The team was a disaster and it wasn’t really a good place for the kids to be. Now that they have gotten their shit together, yes, once McLaughlin gets his last shot, they should bring up one of Lysell, Poitras or Merkulov for that 3RW spot.
I like Poitras, but I'm curious to hear what people think his ceiling is?
I don't see much more than a 15 goal, 35 point guy. I can easily be wrong but I think he's criminally overrated around here. Not saying he can't be a good piece for this team, but I think people need to look a little deeper here with their expectations.
I see a playmaking 2 way centre. I see 50-70 point as a fair ask. 90 points is his ceiling to me. But hey I love poitras a little too much maybe. He made the team better when he was here. He was not even close to their worst forward. He makes plays. You don’t think in 3-5 years he won’t be way better? He doesn’t even look like an adult yet.I like Poitras, but I'm curious to hear what people think his ceiling is?

Holy shit. I mean if you're right, I'd love that but I just can't see it... like ever. Maybe 50 points, but not 70-90.I see a playmaking 2 way centre. He is a 35 point player today. If he played a full season in Boston I easily see him getting 35 points.
I mean he played at a 37 point pace last year as a 19 year old in a functional team. And he wasn’t playing with Pastrnak and Marchand. Yiu think last year was his ceiling?I like Poitras, but I'm curious to hear what people think his ceiling is?

I agree here as of this moment. He needs to get stronger and work on his shot. The players nowadays are really smart and know he looks pass steady .Holy shit. I mean if you're right, I'd love that but I just can't see it... like ever. Maybe 50 points, but not 70-90.

Hey maybe I like him too much. To me I see an nhl ready 20 year old that has great vision and great edges. He is fast, gets into passing lanes and back checks hard. I’m very excited for this player.Holy shit. I mean if you're right, I'd love that but I just can't see it... like ever. Maybe 50 points, but not 70-90.
He played only 33 games on a team that was clicking offensively.I mean he played at a 37 point pace last year as a 19 year old in a functional team. And he wasn’t playing with Pastrnak and Marchand. Yiu think last year was his ceiling?
here are two defensemen, that have more points than he does, and it is not like he would be coming up to be defensive star. The more and more I look at these so-called prospects, the more I believe it is time to move on from them, sell before their value gets any lower. At the end of day would it hurt to call up Lysell
Unless the Bruins put up a clinic tonight on long island, after a quarter of the season they are currently:I think most people who know me understand I don't think that Lysell, Merkulov, or Poitras is the answer to their issues. But given we already see what they are as currently constituted, a shakeup in the roster is the least they can f***ing do.
It's not even about forcing his way up IMO. They just keep calling up the exact same types of players they already have hoping that they can contribute offensively - why not give Merk or Lysell or Poitras the same chance on a team starved for goals? We don't need to call up more Geekies and Freddys and Beechers and slot them higher and pray they all of a sudden find offense at 26+ years old after being tweeners up until this point.Whose pride are they protecting by not making a call up? Oh man, was he? You should have started a thread to keep track and celebrate each point...I mean he played at a 37 point pace last year as a 19 year old in a functional team. And he wasn’t playing with Pastrnak and Marchand. Yiu think last year was his ceiling?
I am with you, to a certain degree, trade fine, was not always on board with moving him but now might be the time. Those two players you mentioned, I will pass on. lysell and Poitras, I am sorry but they are overrated, they to me are players who fans hang onto for hope. I am with you on the Hampus hope, was playing well, and if needed could help to move a d-man, to help this club. You are correct this team is dull and the games suck also, I have not once this got excited about their games, like have in the past. I feel a movement by management is a must to show that they are still committed, to this team. In all honesty I do not want a rebuild, this team is not that team, but I would put everyone on notice changes must be made, and I the stupid over used NTC make it harder to do, but not impossible, everyone or anyone should be available.Trade Frederic to St.Louis, maybe Sundquist or Buchnevich somehow. Send a message.
Call up Lysell and Poitras (2 most skilled prospects). Hope Hampus is back sooner than later.
Honestly, they just suck this year. They may be built for the playoffs but great chance they don't make it. If it takes their best game in almost 25 games to lose to Van 1-0 then not much hope.
This Is not entertaining or enjoyable to watch. If the majority of the team played with passion and intensity then maybe it would be enjoyable.
I'm at the point where I hope the get embarrassed tonight and lose bad. Maybe Jacobs will come out and clean house or maybe Sweeney will come out and do something.
Why does Poitras need to be up anymore than Lysell, he is doing shit in the AHL.All the Lysell supporters still don't get that the organization doesn't like him or his attitude? I agree Poitras should be up, he actually works hard, Lysell not being called up to a team, that is as offensively inept as this one, speaks volumes about the player.
