You've been a proponent for getting bigger and grittier for years now. Well, they did. How does it look to you so far? Is this a winning roster? An actual contender? A playoff qualifier?
Myself I would rather have Zadorov and Kastelic over Grzelcyk and Heinen anyday. The need for upgrade at center has been an issue since Bergeron and Krecji left.

Always, always, always take grittier over softer. Tufte is not gritty, Jones is injury prone, Kastelic has been great, Zadorov is better than the horrible Grzelcyk. They can move on anytime from the big Charlie Coyle who plays like a midget and manages to get even worse in the playoffs.

Sorry the Lysells and Spooners never work out here for you.

One of the problems is his salary, someone like Coyle would have to go the other way. The type of player they should be looking for is more like a Gabe Villardi type, not sure the Jets would make any deal right now, but that is the type of player we need. Zegras plays a soft game and if he came here and was not producing, he would become the new whipping boy. There is also some questions about his attitude.

For what it’s worth

Zegras has come into this year with a different mindset…. He’s playing a more complete game in all 3 zones…. He’s improved a ton in his own end. At this point people still claiming zegras hot dogs/doesn’t play defense just arnt watching Anaheim, and going off his previous seasons where he was guilty of that. He’s been our best forward, still a very dangerous dynamic player, but now he is more active in d zone and neutral zone.

His attitude is much better, not taking bad penalties, and not throwing fits. He’s been a leader in Anaheim.

He’s never going to be overly physical, but he does use his stick well(think datsyuk) and he is battling in corners and front of the net.

I really don’t think he’s even available, he’s made the changes in his gam…. And the offense will start coming back as he gets more comfortable with it.

Before Lindholm got injured, the Bruins were enough below the cap that they would have had a little over $6m at the deadline. I don't know how the Lindholm injury and replacements will affect that but they may not have to clear equal money. If they could afford $4m at the deadline then it's just a matter of including a Geekie or Frederic.

I'd need to see more from Poitras before I hand him the 3C keys. He's just not strong enough yet.
If his value is high enough and would help increase the value of a package that would be of value the Bruins than move him before you risk the chance of his value decreasing. Poitras, is not exactly tearing it up in Providence.

if Zegras is available and you can do it then you do it

The same Zegras that has 2 goals this year? almost 6million a year on top of it, the ask would be more than he's worth. At that price you keep JDB and you at least know he gets things going in the playoffs and can play a 200ft game.

3.4 at this moment in projected deadline space.
