McLaughlin plays a lot like Craig Smith. Fast, gritty and a volume shooter.
Frederic-Coyle-McLaughlin could be good.
At least that line has 3 guys playing in their normal positions.

Shhhh...your popping the Zegras hope and thats all there is to talk about for trades right now.....The contract isn't hurting the Ducks though. They're $25M under the cap right now.
So the question becomes: Why trade him when his value is so low? What would be gained?
Only answer here is you do it to get another young struggling player in hopes that the change of scenery benefits them. Otherwise you just ride it out with Zegras and hope that he can get back to form at some point.
Which makes the Bruins especially bad trade partners. Lohrei is as close as they have (perhaps Lysell is in that category too) but the Bs also have to move salary out in order to accommodate. There is no buy-low option here.
Going with the hot hand. He has 5 goals in last 5 games.
Only looked good on the limited pp time, Has zero interest in fighting for loose pucks and bailed a bunch of times in his end on the ice.Brick was saying Merk looked good and again they refuse to give him more than 2 Lousey games. this stinks
Is this our Heinen replacement? Doesn't seem remarkable in any discernible way, but is just the right type of compliment to a line to make it work?Happy for McMuffin. I would have liked to see Merk with Zacha and Pasta but he really didn’t earn his spot. Unfortunately he didn’t do enough to earn a longer look. Hope he continues to work hard in Providence.
Huh he shot it at the goalie twice in the Pp and whiffed on a shot. Thought he overall stunk. Brickley is more unbearable than Edwards last year IMO.Brick was saying Merk looked good and again they refuse to give him more than 2 Lousey games. this stinks
Leave Zacha right where he is, never should have moved out of center after last year. Please give the Poitras thoughts a rest, there is a reason he is in Providence, someday he might make it, just not his time. One guy that was sill invisible last night was Frederic. His time is up here. Move on. Also just one time try a Zacha-Poitras-Pasta line.
The only Zegras hope is that if he came here and turned into an actual complete hockey player, do want to make that trade on "HOPE" and is 5.25-million-dollar contract, just asking.Shhhh...your popping the Zegras hope and thats all there is to talk about for trades right now.....
It's probably not the best strategy for every crew, but with a goal-starved team like this that is chock full of guys playing below grade, I prefer the quantity over quality approach.I hope moderators don't mind, but I will repost
Joe Sacco’s message to Bruins? Keep it simple … and create some ‘chaos’
Joe Sacco's emphasis as Bruins interim head coach is keeping things simple — while creating chaos in the offensive zone.www.boston.com
In the Montgomery/Sacco thread.
Sacco is approaching the circumstance in precisely the right way.
Begin where you are. Go from there.
Keep the puck out of your . Provide defensive layers. Chip passes out, in transition, rather than stretch passes or fancy Dan moves.
Play hard. Be hard to play against. Keep it simple.
Jettison quality over quantity thinking. Or rather, overthinking.
Put the puck on the net every chance you get and good things will happen.
Pretty simple, huh?
A recipe for white knuckle victories. Hard fought. Hard won.
Scintillating entertainment? Probably not.
But I will take this approach all day long in contrast to the mess the Bruins will hopefully leave behind.
They might even make the playoffs!
Take heart, Boston Bruins fans,
McLaughlin is just "a guy" to me. I don't see much from him.As much as I hate to be a buzz kill, McLaughlin is simply not good. He may give us a good game or two, but it won’t be too long before he’s sent back down and we try someone else. Viel at least gave us a spark. McLaughlin will not. Sorry.

I like Viel but I agree. He's a call up at best. With Kastelic in, I don't think you'll see Viel in the lineup.Viel gave one of the teams a spark, at least. Viel can be PJ Stock on a shit team, but he ain’t an answer. Not saying McLauglin is either.
The answer to having too many bottom 6 stiffs on the roster already is to add another bottom 6 stiff from Providence. Sweet. That'll fix the lack of scoring right up...As much as I hate to be a buzz kill, McLaughlin is simply not good. This the bolded part . What a disappointment Frederic has been this yearI like Viel but I agree. He's a call up at best. With Kastelic in, I don't think you'll see Viel in the lineup.
They have a mean forward playing the best hockey of his career and a big, mean D-man back there too.
If only Frederic could find his balls.
You've been a proponent for getting bigger and grittier for years now. Well, they did. How does it look to you so far? Is this a winning roster? An actual contender? A playoff qualifier?I like Viel but I agree. He's a call up at best. With Kastelic in, I don't think you'll see Viel in the lineup.

I get it, trades are hard…It may surprise to hear that free agency is over, and the only calls ups that can be made are from Providence.
Sure, I mean, adding a big D-man is essentially all they did? I still don't hate it.You've been a proponent for getting bigger and grittier for years now. Well, they did. How does it look to you so far? Is this a winning roster? An actual contender? A playoff qualifier?
