If Neely is running the ship rn that would explain the Viel call up lol
Viel call up is overdue. Christ, we're supposed to be the big bad Bruins but instead we're the big, slow, soft as puppy shit Bruins.

Viel as a 4th liner who'll go out and fight anyone in the league, hold his own, provide some energy, is not the Bruins problem. The top two lines are sucking. McAvoy is playing like a #4 on most teams. Swayman spent too much time in the offseason studying, understanding the art of negotiations, doing podcasts etc vs stopping f***ing pucks. I for one was not a fan of signing this whinny little f*** after I read his comments. He's mentally weak and he's got a bigger ego than Mitch Marner.

After Korp goes and plays a solid game, and after multiple Swayman stinkers, Monty goes and starts Swayman vs the Blue Jackets and he gets lit up. You ride Korp until he is the cause of a loss. Until then, let moneybags Swayman sit and watch and work his ass off in practice.

Swayman made a comment last night about how he's up to speed on the ice, but not with the guys in the room. I'm paraphrasing so if someone could find a clip that would be better, but I got the sense that he wasn't held in the same regard as last year. He was saying he needed to try to do more to be part of the room and more of a leader.

It caught my attention because that was one of the theories I tossed out yesterday when you asked me what was wrong.

Lol @ Snowflake.

I speak Friedman.

When he says "I wonder if..." that's just his opinion.

"I think..." means he's heard it from a source or two but possibly indirect and nothing where he's willing to own it.

"I've heard..." means he has it on better authority and will stand by it as a fact.
Oh ok good, then maybe you can translate this from a month ago for me:

“The word is that the Bruins and Marchand are getting closer on an extension, expected to be three years,” Freidman said. “We’ll see what happens in the next little bit, but the word is that they are getting closer.”

Heard it from another agent.

Honestly, the top 5 of this upcoming draft looks pretty good. Youd get a hell of a prospect with a top 5. Possible 1D, 2 1Cs and a power forward. If only this was happening next season in the Gavin McKenna sweepstakes. I would be all for a tank season.

lol we are probably a Pasta injury away at any time from a tank season.

CBJ broadcast thought it was a legal hit, upon review.
It looked good to me when it first happened. I think it's one of those that we see called sometimes, and other times not, which is one of the maddening things about the NHL. You never know, even shift to shift sometimes, if something is a crosscheck or isn't etc.

I thought Viel was good, and maybe they keep him up for some energy, but the fight with Olivier right off the bat was lame. I'd rather he save it for a more meaningful time in a game if it's going to happen. That just looked obligatory and silly like 'let's get it out of the way early.'

It's not an excuse, it's my complaint as I said.

He should be looking after the team that pays his salary first. To let it get this far is laughable.

But you go on being you Pia.

One, multitasking is a skill. I know Donny only puts in 4 days a year, but it happens.

As well, this isn't a culmination of 1 year. This is 10 years of negative asset flow catching up to them. This roster is not a contender. They don't have youth coming, this is the result. Finally need to accept reality. Sell Marchand, Sell Freddy. Get a new front office and start over. It happens. Donny's inherited core retired.

But you be you Dom and blame Monty for the failing of the roster.

I still don't understand what he got a penalty for? Hitting too hard?

I thought live it was from behind. The replay showed he did come more from the side but I can understand why the refs called that one.

I liked that Viel knew his role and went out and did it. Hit stuff, fight someone, try to up the team's emotional juices. Hope he stays around for awhile.

He fights first shift, two minutes in. And the Bruins proceed to have their worst 1st period of the season.

Guess it didn't work. Nobody on the Bruins bench gave a shit what this no-name minor leaguer did. Nor should they. I find it bewildering that people expect the men on that bench to get emotionally invested in a hockey fight by a guy on his first shift who just showed up from their minor league team, who they have never really played with before, don't really know, and he's here to take jobs/ice time from some of them.

The #1 prospect in the draft this year is a center out of Boston College? I mean it's fate.

7th-8th from the bottom of the league is a 6% chance to bink that pick. Imagine? Man what a troll job that would be. We're not even that far from there now, lol.
That's where I am at .Be great to get Hagan but Martone Misa and that Russian kid are all good players as well.Give me any 1 of those 4 it's a good day.

lol @ top 5 in this years draft. They are middle of the pack at this point. Would be unlikely to get a top 5 pick. Maybe 10-15 pick which could turn out nice.

Not the way they are losing now. There are a bunch of teams between Boston and last place Chicago, but the separation is only 6 pts
And everyone has games at hand outside Pittsburgh and San Jose.

Yeah I dunno. Like I said before, a Pasta injury is a top 5 pick...
