With the talent they have, they need a coach that is structured and defensive minded. They cannot turn this crew into scorers or cannot trade for one or two. They need a Claude like guy and try and keep the score low.

The current players do not hold enough value to get value back and the youth is not up to snuff. Dump and chase, shoot from everywhere and hit everything in site. Simple hockey for simple players. We need a mission statement for everyone to follow.

Richardson thinks Hall needs more practice, less game time, to get back up to speed. Hall disagrees.

I wouldn't expect either party to admit he's cooked but he may very well be cooked. A player with multiple knee surgeries whose bread and butter was his explosive skating.
i haven't watched basically any chicago games this year, but folks on their board say hall has played well and can still skate.
and that richardson is a moron. so............i think we'd have to see with our own eyes to say for sure.

Mr. Make-Believe

The happy genius of my household
This team is already full of Bertuzzi's. Guys who don't skate well and can only score within 5 feet of the net. It's having too many forwards like this that is the problem really. No who can create time and space with their feet. No one who can shoot and score from the mid-high slot or off the rush.

The league's most one-dimensional forward group and people want to add to that one dimension. It's insane.
It's not the skillset. It's that we've seen that combination before and it WORKED. And we've seen Morgan Geekie there and Tyler Johnson and well anything we've tried. And none of that works.

Strategy is to go with what works.

I think they've used him on his off-wing too which I don't believe he's done much of in the past.

A Geekie for Hall swap I could get behind. Even Hall at half-speed would still make this team faster vs. dressing Geekie.

Coming from a Hall guy, not sure brining in a question mark at this time, should be in the cards.

I actually think it's desperation time and time to gamble. Their biggest problem is team speed. Even if they can make several small incremental moves over a period of time they can turn this sinking ship around. Very doubtful they can pull off a big move in-season. Geekie for Hall adds to one of their two biggest needs.

Maybe then get Carcone out of Utah. He's a very good skater, scored 20 last year. He'd replace Johnson/Tufte/Brown in the line-up and makes the Bruins faster.

Hall - Zacha - Pasta

Marchand - Lindholm - Frederic

Carcone - Coyle - Brazeau

Koepke - Beecher - Kastelic (or Beecher - Kastelic - Koepke)

If the plan is to salvage the season small incremental moves seems better than no moves. The forward mix they have now isn't working.
