If you care about fancy stats, he's top 6 in a lot of the categories for the team, and he's doing it with not so good players on his line. Player Season Totals - Natural Stat Trick (numbers not fully up to date)

This may be a better site even-strength points per 60 Boston Bruins @ NHL - 2024‑2025 Stats

I guess all stats tell a story and can be useful in some way.

But I'm not seeing how these numbers are saying Poitras has been playing great.

Of course it's understandable that we are all trying hard to find silver linings in this current season. I'm hoping Brazeau is the next Tim Kerr.

He's tilting the ice in the bruins favor more then any other play on our roster rn, that's all those numbers mean. The team can't finish right now so it's not resulting in anything, but being first on the roster in CF%, xG%, and HDCF% means good things are happening when he's on the ice. And also means there is real logic to moving him up in the lineup.

I think it's good to find the silver-lining for the younger players. He's one of the better forwards entering the zone, he's disrupting passes, and backchecking well. He's doing the little things right which is a good sign. I'm not trying to pump his tires, but he has been one of the more consistent forwards for the Bruins this season in terms of play.

How the Bruins historically try to right the ship:

Step 1- shuffle the deck chairs/ lines.

Step 2- sign ufa and/ or promote from Prov.

Step 3- make a trade to shake things up.

Step 4- Fire the coach.

I think we are now entering the Step 3 of the playbook.
If I'm Sweeney, I look at moving Frederic or Geekie. It has to be for a player coming back in a trade though.

Not enough to move the needle for me. If you think Frederic is getting moved will solve all problems, then I suggest you watch the remainder of a very overrated roster, the problem with making it better is lack of competence in the management team, and the coaching staff, begin their first then move players off this roster.

Who do you think the Bruins should move? How many teams have fired their entire coaching staff and/or management team during the season? Trading Frederic is not going to solve all problems, but it's a wake up call to the other core players on the team that no one is safe.

If the Bruins trade Frederic or Geekie for picks/prospects, it's going to show the other guys in the room that management is throwing in the towel 14 games into the season which is not what the Bruins want to do.

I am trying to make a statement on how I feel about this situation, I understand that it would be unusual at this time to totally clean house, but I think you get my message and frustration. I do not want to make trades for picks and prospects, I want to make this roster better, if picks and prospects are gained in the process, that is fine. honestly like you I have players that I enjoy watching play, and some I don't, but at this stage, no one should be off the table, but just moving Fredrics move the needle enough, not sure it does, but it is a start..........this cannot go on.

This "rumor" feels like it came from anywhere but Boston

Or they're cutting dead weight/banking for the deadline knowing they need space for a top 6 dude if no one else grabs the spot (Also who is Max Jones going in for right now? Even Geekie looked somewhat capable the last 2 games)

Yes this is the case. They need to keep themselves at no more than 13 forwards as much as they can to try and bank some space. Jones needs to play to see if he can find his game and that wasn't going to happen as the 14th man in Boston.

I agree Wally.I know they want more scoring but that PK could use serious help too.
