I love how the thing with Zboril is always “consensus pick” and then everyone makes excuses for not picking the other two consensus picks.

JFK at 52. Forgot all about him

Win small against bad teams and lose big to good teams.
2 points is 2 points and let's not forget loser points. It maintains mathematical parity across the teams for profits across the board.
Then, at the end of the regular season the cream rises to the
top and most of the imposters are weeded out.
Everybody's happy!:sarcasm:

Even Jakes biggest haters are right that we shouldn't have let him walk for nothing. Could have had Jake and Ully and traded Swayman for a stud forward prospect or high pick from one of the goalie desperate teams if you move a Geekie out to make the contracts work.

This cores problems haven't gotten any better since they apparently mutinied over butch scratching Gryz. Even Bergeron was part of that.

But changing coaches works it's why Sinden changed them like his underwear the 2023 team was probably 3rd or 4th best roster in the league that year and it had the best regular season of all time. Bergerons last year is probably the biggest reason not Monty but that never happens with a coach that's on his 5th or 6th season.
We could have only had Jake if he still wanted to be here

Would anyone do Coyle for Zibanejad?

Zibanejad is the superior player but he has is not having a good year and could be starting to decline. He's 31 with 5 more years at $8.5m while Coyle is 32 with 1 more year at $5.25, so move would be to shed cap from Rangers POV.

I don't think it's the right direction for the B's (I think they should be looking at Cozens, Mercer, guys like that), but it's also a "shake up the roster, we're not giving up on this group" type of deal I could see them trying to make.

It was in response to a post that said all three picks were off the board. It’s just factually inaccurate.

I’m not saying any of the picks were amazing, but to act as if anyone knew walking into it what these guys future was is a complete and total lie.

Something I found interesting in McKenzie’s rankings was Carlo at 22, even ahead of Debrusk at 28. Bruins obviously got Brandon in round 2. Didn’t realize it until I checked it for reference earlier.

This is what the Bruins should do. Call up the kids, sell players that don't have a future here to recoup picks/assets and free up cap space for next season. Bonus would be making the playoffs and getting the young players playoff experience.
Absolutely. This isn't the year to trade the 1st round pick (unless there is an under 27 year old core forward you can add) but otherwise just stay the course. Let's get these kids some playing time and in positions to succeed. The spots are available so why not.

I'd love to just see Poitras and Lysell for a half of season in these prominent roles. We will be going into the offseason with the exact idea of what we need based on their level of play. Sink or swim time.

We might just find a lot of our answers are more internally than we think.

I’m fine with Wahlstrom, might as well.

Just seems like they think Lysell isn’t close. Maybe I’m off base, I’m certainly not slamming my fist on the table for him, just my feeling.

He’s only 21, some guys take longer than others, but something gotta give at some point.

Like that they're taking a flyer on Wahlstrom. He has some skill and he can't possibly make things worse.
Exactly.

Honestly just happy to see a young-ish player with potential given a chance to play.

When they sent Poitras down a part of my excitement for this team died.

If he doesn’t pan out then oh well.

Again, a lot of expectations being a 11th OA. Breath of fresh air for the kid aka Zacha.

Maybe this, but not impressive they’re hanging on with being in such a shit division
Yeah, I am not at all impressed in the classic sense. More of a backhanded compliment there. Maybe I should say I am impressed by the number of absolutely shitty teams that they are outperforming in the standings when they should be in lottery territory with those numbers :)

Skillset is there, but he never really got traction at NYI and there could be any number of reasons why that aren't related to whether or not he is a poor hockey player. Nothing lost by this move, really. If he can help, great, if not, his salary gets buried in Providence or someone else takes him on in waivers.

Personally I do not think they are very talented.

-The offense is void of talent outside of pasta/marchand.
-It appears everyone’s fears of Elias Lindholm downfall are true.
-The defense has been a disappointment and so has the goaltending.

It’s just a poorly constructed roster.
They don’t have top 5 in the league talent top to bottom no. I meant more the simple things they do so poorly seemingly nightly.

Missed coverages you learn when you’re 12. Positioning all out of whack. Lazy penalties. It just screams discontent or dgaf to me. I have a hard time believing it’s the latter.

Now whether they’re pissy with management or a certain player I dunno. Just a theory
