Depending on who they pick this year, I might just keep McGroat at #1. Hes having a solid rookie season at 20 years old
A lot of people, myself included.Maybe Melvin can join WBS for Calder Cup playoffs…that’d be awesome
Also, if we’re re-voting our prospect list, who doesn’t vote Murashov #1 atm?
A lot of people, myself included.
Blom was an all-star last year.
I'm voting Murashov #1. Again. Damn the masses.Fine, people…I’m voting Murashov…I think @Jesse is on board too..lol
If you don't have a Drew O'Connor, you've gotta go out and get a Drew O'Connor.I feel like one of those firsts is going to get packaged for a young NHLer.
We have to turn every young player into Drew O'Connor. It's the Sullivan Curse. If you don't have a Drew O'Connor, you've gotta go out and get a Drew O'Connor.
Murashov probably won’t even be top-5 for me when the prospect voting happens next.
Top-5 will most likely be some order of McGroarty, Koivunen, Brunicke and their 2 1sts from this draft.
Murashov has played nine games in the AHL. He's done very well to adapt in his first season out of Russia and he has a lot of promise.
But let's tap the brakes on expectations for him. He still has much to prove.
This is a spicy meatball. I like it.
I don't say that because I dislike Murashov, it's more that goalies are voodoo and Murashov has only played in 16 games in his career between the AHL and KHL.
I'm just waiting for a larger sample size on Murashov. Blomqvist played in 45 games in the AHL last year with the same .921 save% that Murashov has between the ECHL and AHL this year, but Blomqvist has generally struggled this year relative to the other goalies in the organization.
I didn't take it as disrespectful at all. @Big Friggin Dummy said it best above, it's hard to parse apart the skill level he has with the overall putridity of the pipeline. Any diamond in the rough is gonna get a little bit of the hype treatment. Trying to keep my hype in check, but he is legitimately one of the fastest netminders I've ever seen at these levels of play. It's wild to see him thrive amid chaos. For now, I think we should all sit back and enjoy. Hopefully he grabs the net for the playoffs and we get a really nice run of games to judge.
It’s probably worth putting more weight behind his age in all of this. He is only 20 years old at the moment, and also has an entire body of excellent junior play to evaluate from. Meanwhile, the upcoming draft picks and other highly rated prospects will only have junior hockey play to assess their ranking.I don't say that because I dislike Murashov, it's more that goalies are voodoo and Murashov has only played in 16 games in his career between the AHL and KHL.
